🥇 Diocletian's Palace in Split, Croatia by @rsphotos
I invite you to take a photographic tour of the palace, dating back to the turn of the 3rd and 4th centuries, i.e., Roman times. These are actually remnants, as most of the old buildings are gone; new residential buildings have been built in their place. Originally, it was a palace-fortress complex surrounded by walls with 16 towers (only three remain), built as a retirement residence for Emperor Diocletian. Diocletian himself was born in Salona near Split, which is why he chose to spend his final years there. The palace grounds occupy half of Split's old town and have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979.

🥈 Hierro, the island at the world’s edge by @terresco
Among the Canary Islands, El Hierro is undoubtedly the most discreet, the most secret, and the most unspoiled. Far from the tourist bustle of Tenerife or Gran Canaria, it offers a rare, intimate, and authentic experience. It is a land of silence, wind, and light, one of those places where time seems suspended. With barely ten thousand inhabitants, this small volcanic island with its rugged relief is a refuge for those seeking to reconnect with nature and simplicity. Its beauty does not reveal itself at first glance; it is discovered slowly, along winding roads, steep cliffs, and green valleys.
