Vote for this proposal (#348) Peakd.com / Ecency / Hive.blog / HiveSigner
We can´t believe it has already been one year since @detlev and @lizanomadsoul saved the map and started the @worldmappin project. And what a journey it has been! So many great people, great ideas, get-togethers, developments, and cooperations!
Thanks to all of you for that great time!
We had a lot of work with the old code and needed to renew this project from scratch. We achieved even more than we thought to create this stable base we are standing on now. It was totally worth it. And now we want to keep building on it!
It´s time to bring this project to the next level!
✨ What is the Worldmappin project?
Worldmappin is more than just a map. It’s a visual layer on top of Hive, where people from all over the world pin their memories, stories, and local insights — and where the Hive community comes together through curated travel content, community events, and gamification.
At its core, Worldmappin brings together three powerful elements:
🗺 The Map - Your Hive-Powered Travel Guide
- A fully interactive world map where any Hivian can pin their post to a location
- Currently features over 138,000 posts from all 7 continents
- Over 39,000 posts are marked as very high quality from our curation team
- Every user has their own personal world map – a living memory book of their journey on Hive
- Readers can click on any location to discover Hive blogs about that place
- Serves as a travel planning tool, a diary, and a visual showcase
- A way to explore Hive content by place, not just by tags
Since the worldmappin.com map exists, we have planned to extend it for all Hive users, which means everyone can pin their post on the map and link it to the content-related community, bringing all the users and communities of Hive together in one place again on the worldmappin.com map.
Currently, it is mostly used by travelers, as well as foodies, artists, beer lovers, and many more.
Integrations
Used daily by almost all travel bloggers on Hive, the Worldmappin Map is already integrated into PeakD and Distriator, and work is in progress to add it to Ecency and InLeo.:
🌐 The Community – Where Travel Lives on Hive
- Nearly 17,000 subscribers, with 464 active users monthly
- Every single post is reviewed and moderated by a dedicated multilingual team
- The best content is curated and featured in our daily Travel Digest
- We enforce quality content guidelines, offering orientation for creators
- Users are ranked on a leader board within the map based on their consistency and quality of their content
- Regular community challenges drive participation and creativity
- Serving as a valuable resource for travelers, planners, and dreamers alike
The Worldmappin Community is one example of showing how using the map works. It always has been and will be travel-related, because our vision in this community has always been two things:
A: Provide each traveler with their unique world map, where they can explore the world, pin their trips and memories, and dive back into the memories whenever they want with just a click.
B: Provide travelers with a platform to share their adventures and experiences with others, so that the entire community benefits from using the map as a travel guide to find more information and inspiration for their next trips.
🤝 The Delegation Reward Program – Shared Growth for Everyone
We believe in a community-powered economy. That’s why we launched the Delegation Reward Program to make Worldmappin sustainable — not just for us, but for everyone.
- Delegators receive a daily share of curation rewards from the community account in HP form.
- This incentivizes staking and strengthens Hive’s Proof-of-Stake principle
- We currently curate the best out of 100–150 posts daily, distributing value across the community
- The more Hive Power we manage, the more creators we can support
Our Team
Our team is the perfect mix of experience and innovation, of development and community management, and most importantly, of cultures and mindsets from Hivers based all over the world.
It is led and managed by the founders @detlev and @lizanomadsoul, two users who have been active parts of this lovely platform for over 7 years. They have consistently engaged with several Hive projects in the past.
@detlev is mostly known for his beer community and as moderator at Hivefest, while @lizanomadsoul is one of the founders of the former travel Community Pinmapple, being a passionate traveler herself. Together, they are leading the project. @detlev, as project owner, focuses on finance & development, and @lizanomadsoul, as founder, focuses on the project management, community management & communication.
The development team is working on the front and backend to make sure everything is user-friendly, safe, and fast. They are creating and implementing new ideas, developing them further every day.
The team members responsible for that part are @masterswatch, @arcange, @uniforced, and @louis88. We are happy to announce that we will onboard as well @abinsaji4 for the next steps in the new development.
Our curation team brings in the user's perspective for our developers. But most importantly, they moderate the community with almost 17,000 subscribers (464 active users), guiding them, making sure everyone feels welcome and can grow on the chain. They motivate the users, make sure they follow the rules, and curate the best travel posts out of 100-150 posts daily.
The team members responsible for that part are @ybanezkim26, @lauramica, @ninaeatshere, @glecerioberto, and @lizanomadsoul.
To complete everything, we have @rivalzzz, @sunsea, and @godfish on board to help us out with community management (Discord), end-user testing, and ideas for business models.
The main key to our great success so far is that we have regularly virtual Meetups with our Team to discuss the further steps and bring in all perspectives from our team members all over the world.
🛠 What we have achieved so far
As we already showcased in our project update post in detail a while ago, we achieved everything planned in our last proposal and even more, staying within the calculated costs.

The big goal is to take this project to the next level:

💰 Request for Funding
We like to spend as little as possible and ask only for the amount to be able to cover costs: 195 HBD per day.
This proposal request covers current and future infrastructure and human resources costs so that @Worldmappin can continue to run and grow with high quality as a helper and role model for other projects and communities.
The operational budget is created by the needs we see today and the estimated costs for all the upcoming developments with several developers. We will use a bit of the budget as well to market the project and #Hive at many other places to gain more users for Hive.
All this is based on the following elements:
Community work (16,35%)
- Multilingual moderation & curation (120–150 posts daily)
- Challenge organization & community support
- Expansion of the Delegation Reward Program
- Community onboarding & support tools
- Scouting and onboarding new users to the chain and community
- Keep giving users guidance and motivation to stay on Hive and invest in their accounts
Development (42,49%)
- Mobile app buildout (PWA + Native App)
- UI overhaul & frontend modernization (worldmappin.com Website)
- Feature development (filtering, gamification, trip planner and more)
- Overhaul the curation tool for Hive communities (create daily / weekly community posts) -> of course, everything will be open source as usual
Marketing (15,36%)
- Event attendance, presentations, promotional material
- Influencer outreach and giveaways
- Merch production and shipping
- Hive visibility campaigns
Technical Service, Hosting and Operation (20,38%)
- Server, database, and backups to safely run the project with all needed resources
- Domains and security
- Monitoring and maintenance
Other costs (5,43%)
A spare part for all the things who show up during the next timeframe
