WOO at BakkenCon 2025 – Laying the Foundation for HIVE Wrestle Fest
Over this last weekend WOO had a booth at BakkenCon 2025. This is our second year attending the event and it is also the second year BakkenCon has been running. The weekends event was held in Williston North Dakota, and man… it was a huge success.
We were out there promoting WOO and Hive, meeting families, selling merch, and most importantly doing the groundwork for HIVE Wrestle Fest 2026.
This was a perfect chance for us to interact with the local community and inform them of the upcoming wrestling show. I have to tell you, the locals are excited! They are hungry for any type of entertainment for the family and they have fond memories of when wrestling used to come to town. Well, now it's coming back with Hive Wrestle Fest!
What Went Down at BakkenCon
We set up a full WOO booth featuring our gear and collectibles. Fans got the chance to pick up:
- Signed 8x10 photos
- Vintage ECW posters
- Signed Perry Saturn WOO collectible cards
And of course, the WOO Championship Belt made its rounds as fans stopped by to take pictures holding it. Seeing the smiles on their faces reminded us exactly why we do this.
The Prize Wheel & Scavenger Hunt
One of the biggest hits of the weekend was our Prize Wheel.
Fans could spin for free when signing up, and they could also earn 3 extra spins by completing a scavenger hunt with a few fun tasks around the convention. We handed out 100 scavenger hunt slips — and nearly half came back fully completed. That level of engagement was incredible!
Prizes included:
- Signed WOO merch
- Gift cards to local game shops (strengthening our relationship with shops that will carry our WOO TCG)
- Visa gift cards ranging from $25 to $100
The amount of kids and families who left with smiles was unforgettable. One little girl walked away with a signed Perry Saturn card, a signed 8x10 photo, and a $25 gift card from her 3 free spins. She was jumping up and down and shouted:
“I’M GONNA BUY SOME SLIME!”
Moments like that made it clear: WOO is putting smiles on faces.
The Big Win: Nearly 200 Signups
The biggest accomplishment? We captured nearly 200 names, emails, and phone numbers from local families who are interested in what’s coming next.
That list isn’t just numbers, and empty information. This is people who want to be part of something new and exciting. It's families that are hungry to do something in the community in an area that is starved for entertainment. And most importantly it’s the early community we’re going to invite into the world of Hive, step by step and walk with them the entire process.
This is the footwork to make good on the promise we laid out in our Hive proposal: building toward HIVE Wrestle Fest.
What’s Next: HIVE Wrestle Fest 2026
Here’s the big news:
HIVE Wrestle Fest will take place in Williston, North Dakota on Saturday, May 9th, 2026 — the Saturday before Mother’s Day, during the legendary Williston Band Day Parade.
That’s right. We’re bringing the energy of WOO to our local community in a way that’s never been done before.
And thanks to Hive, fans will be able to:
- Create accounts right at the event
- Receive HBD directly to use on purchases
- Start their onboarding journey into the Hive ecosystem
This isn’t just a wrestling show but instead it’s a bridge between Web3 and real-world fans.
