Hello everyone! I'm back again. For today's blog, I will share with you how I celebrated my Birthday. I know this is a late post about my birthday, as it has already ended. It happened on July 13, and this is just the time that I feel like writing it here.
I really don't celebrate my Birthday. But my Mom likes me to celebrate it because she likes me to blow a candle and eat pancit or Spaghetti for a longer life, and my wish in life will be granted. Lol
When I turned 20 years old, If I remember correctly, I celebrated my Birthday with my so-called "Friends". We ate at our house with my simple handa that my grandma and Sister cooked for my Birthday Celebration. After eating, we drank some liquor, and they slept here.
And when I turned 21 years old, I just celebrated my birthday with my sister by buying some things that I could use. Like new clothes, new jeans, and a new Fan because my fan at the time was broken. In that year, I noticed that my body weight was changing, and so I started to have problems with my clothes.
And then, when I turned 22 years old, I celebrated my Birthday by Going out with my Sister and her boyfriend. We ate samgyupsal, and we also visited the Manaoag Church.
Haha, I can't stop laughing at my picture on the left side because I look awkward here. You know when a family member takes a photo of you, especially if your Mom wants to take a picture of you, you look like a different person, right? Compare the pictures to the ones you took when you took a selfie.
Now that I've turned 23 years old, I don't have any plans to celebrate it at first. As I told you in my previous blog, I don't think I can still Thank God as my life experience is a mess.
So what happened on that day? What did I do to celebrate my Birthday? Of course, it's just become a normal day, like what I always do every day. Everyone wishes me a "Happy Birthday," and all I can say is "Thank you," and I didn't expect that, actually—that many people would greet me on that day. I expected that they wouldn't remember my birthday again. Well, some people that I consider important in my life didn't greet me, and I expected that already as I don't have any food to serve on that day. You know, there is this toxic thing that I realized. People will just greet you if you have some food on your birthday, but when they find it boring and they find that you will not do anything on your birthday, they will not consider greeting you. What I am telling you is, let's normally greet someone on their birthday or an important occasion of their life, not just because they have some food or anything on that day, but you should greet them from your heart and mind as they also became part of your life.
But oh well, that's why I am not expecting anything from my Birthday. I expected that no one would remember it. Because last year, no one greeted me on that day, especially my Family. I planned not to celebrate it and just make it a normal day. I expected that they would still greet me even though they would not receive anything from me, but that is just what I expected, And so, as a result, I decided to celebrate it with just my Sister and her boyfriend.
Anyway, last Thursday of last week was my birthday. I decided just to make it a normal day because it's not worth it to celebrate it with some people who don't consider me important in their lives. Why would I celebrate and invest money in food for those people who are not even honest, or should I say considerate, in their greetings? That they would just greet me because of the food and not because they were happy for me. It is better for me to save my money that is supposed to be used for buying ingredients or food rather than do that. I don't like to make a negative memory that I will remember every year when my birthday comes.
Another reason I didn't celebrate my birthday was because I promised myself last year that I would never be happy on my birthday. Why? Because my first male cat died after my Birthday.
I was too happy to celebrate it with my Sister and her boyfriend outside that day. I stayed at my Sister's place back then and left my Cat here at my Grandparents house with them. Not knowing that my Cat misses me and that he didn't eat every day while I was away. When I came back home, that was also his last breath. I still remember what happened that day, and it feels like it just happened yesterday.
Anyway, The first thing that I did that day was sleep. Sleeping is very important for me to do that day because it's raining, and when it rains, cuddling with your jowa is good to do, but since I don't have a jowa, All I can do is cuddle with my dog or my pillow. Lol, Sleeping is also what I need to do because I am hoping that my height will increase a little too. Huhu, I'm 23 years old now, but my height is still so—nevermind.
Well, I didn't have any companions that day because my Grandma attended the christening of my Aunt's (Mom's cousin's) Daughter, my Grandpa went to the farm to check something, and the other people were... I don't know where they went that time.
I received a lot of greetings from the people I just knew virtually. Especially from Hiveph members on Discord. The first person who greeted me that time was ARC. To be honest, I didn't expect that. Actually, my wish that day was that my Crush would be the first one to greet me, but that didn't happen, but I still received a "Happy Birthday" message from him after, so it's still okay and I felt the little kilig. Dug dug dug
My Mom and Ninang gifted me money. My Mom told me to use it to buy food for celebrating, but I didn't use it to buy food for celebrating. Instead, I saved it on my Bank account.
I don't have plans to spend money, actually, but I decided to buy myself a new pair of slippers because my old ones are kind of old now because I always used them. Then I remembered that every time my Grandma goes out somewhere with her Siblings, her shoes are so old now. She doesn't have a proper sandal when she goes out with them. She always takes a picture with them, and when I see it on my newsfeed, I can't help but feel sad because my grandma looks different from them.
So, I decided to buy her a sandal too. Not a sandal that is made with expensive materials and costs expensively, though. I remember the sandal that she always saw on a post and wanted to buy, but it was expensive. I also told her that advertisements like that on social media are not real to make her feel better because I really know that she really likes them. But I am glad that I saw a similarity to the sandal that she wanted in one of Tiktok's shops. It's not expensive, and there's a discount too, and there are many good feedbacks or reviews about the product, so I bought it.

She was happy when she received her new sandal, and she even told me that the sandal looked comfy when she tried to walk and that I was glad. I also guessed her size based on how she walked before I bought that, and I am glad that it fit her feet.
Then my Grandpa felt sad. I knew when he knew that I had bought something for my Grandma. I know that he always feels like he is being left out by everyone because it's always Grandma. A little thing that he did not know is that I also bought him a new Water Jug that he can use when he goes to work on the Farm. I remember his small, orange Water jug that he always used and carried to go to the farm; it was old already. If I'm not mistaken, he has been using that since I was still in high school.
Charaaan! I received this yesterday and am glad that my Grandma likes the quality of this water jug. I remember that our water jug when I was a kid was made with the same brand, which is the OROCAN brand. This kind of Water jug is really strong, like the 4L water jug that they bought back then, which lasted for how many years? We always carry that water jug before we go to the farm and when we go on family outings. My Grandma also told me that this kind of water jug can also be used for cool and hot water as the plastic design of this water jug is thick, and so she told me to pick the right water jug that my lolo needed.
I rolled my eyes too that day after I took a bath and looked for something to wear. My shirts are kind of old already, and when I go out, I don't have something comfortable to wear, and I gain weight too, so my old shirts do not fit me. My size before was Small in women's sizes, but now I pick the Medium size in overrun shirts for men. Haha, I choose men's sizes of shirts because they are so comfortable to wear and feel oversize too. I picked overrun shirts because I am the type of woman who doesn't wear girly things, especially cute designs, and I actually planned on choosing the Arvo brand of shirt with a plain colored design only, but I decided to buy that when I have a budget soon.
I also spend my time practicing art. Since I don't have a companion and I was kind of bored alone, I decided to practice how to draw. I spend my time watching a lot of art videos from different social media sites like Facebook, Youtube, TikTok, and Instagram, and I admire those artists who are good at creating or editing videos of how they paint and draw. Somehow, I feel like trying what they do. I became interested in how it looks when you use Alcohol markers and colored pencils to color what you sketch. So I tried it and am glad that I found my younger cousin's alcohol markers and different art materials that you can use in coloring.
It's still not perfect, though. I didn't use shapes, and as a result, the balance of lines is not fair. Meanwhile, the sketch that I did using different pencils is not perfect because it still looks flat and not realistic to me. But still, I am glad for the little by little improvement of my art skills. As Jude Villarta says, "I'm getting there," and I need more practice.
I recieved a belated birthday gift from my Tita Ninang who came home from USA. Since I was a high School student, my Tita Ninang knows that I am good at make-up. That's why, every time she or her mother, who is my Grandma's sister, comes home from Abroad, she never forgets to give me things that I can use for makeup.
But I always give it to my Sister because she is the one who keeps those things because she uses them when there is an important occasion that we always attend, such as the debut party of my classmate, a wedding, etc. But now I am keeping those things already, as my Sister is not that interested in make-up, and I actually have a lot of make-up on my vanity cabinet from my Tita Ninang. I am also wondering if I can make this a business, but I am worried because I don't know how to use an eyebrow pencil to fix the eyebrows of my customers, as even I didn't fix my eyebrows because I am comfortable with my Natural brows. Another reason is that I don't know how to fix hair. Lol I think I need to buy a Wig for practicing. Because I will use my Younger cousin's hair, I'm afraid that I might burn her hair.
Speaking of make-up, I forgot to mention that I dressed up that day and did a picture-taking thing. You know that some women like to appreciate their beauty during their birthday and do some picture-taking, and because it's my birthday, I don't like to pity myself and look like a panda, so I decided to dress up and make myself pretty. Okay, it's hard to put concealer on my dark circles under my eyes, but thanks to concealer, it became decent for just a short moment or time.
CONCLUSION:
Before I end this blog of mine, I didn't get a chance to Thank everyone who greeted me on my Birthday. Thank you to all of the Hiveph members. It made my day special and memorable, especially the greeting from my Crush. Yieee!
And also, Thanks for the gift, Kuya @demotry . I didn't get a chance to buy myself ice cream yet, but I will make sure to buy myself one when the store near the School opens since it's the only store that sells Ice cream nearby. Haha
Even if I didn't celebrate my birthday like we usually do. It became one of the most memorable day of my life. I am so sure that I will remember what happened on that day next year—the part where I tried practicing Art and had a little improvement, the gift that I received that I will use well, and the things that I bought for my Grandparents.
And that's just the events of my birthday.
