Phew~ Tap check, Tap check! This is my first blog again after how many months? Or maybe it's been a year since I didn't write anything here. Oh! I miss writing! I miss the frustrating feeling of thinking, what would I write? My messy title and nervousness about how the reader will think of the many red grammatical errors and the joking complaints of some of my readers because of the long counts of words but no sense. Lol

I don't know how to welcome myself back to writing. I don't know how to start. Maybe, writing in one of the communities I liked before will help me to write again? Playing is one of my hobbies, and yes! this is one of the things I always do in months of being away here. I still play because of frustration, killing some time not to think negative thoughts, but I ended up feeling more stressed because of my teammates. lol

Anyway, I tried to search the word "Rising MLBB" hoping that some of you know this new game in Mobile Legends. But I couldn't find players who play this game. Sad. Or I didn't search enough to find someone here who knows it. But whatever, believer, Justin Bieber! You know I can take it, counting ’the days'—how many days ’until I can see you again? ~ Char

Before I talk about my Rising Tournament experience(s), first let me know what free skin you got using your promo dias at the last event. As for me, I accumulate 679 dias by playing 2 games in rank, brawl, and classic with my friends everyday.

Those 679 free promo diamonds are enough for me to get Odette's Creator skin. Uwu~

What is Rising Tournament?

The Rising Tournament in Mobile Legends is a competitive event made for up-and-coming players who want to test their skills in a more serious setting. It’s open to amateurs and small teams, giving them a chance to compete, gain experience, and maybe even get noticed by bigger leagues. For many, it’s a stepping stone toward to be pro players.

Differences between MCL and Rising Tournament of Mobile Legends:

If you’ve played in the MCL Tournament before, the Rising Tournament works similarly. But unlike MCL, it doesn’t really highlight the hometowns of the players. They will just give you the displayed trophy on your profile. Now, you carry the name of your hometown with you from Barangay to District to Province as you compete against other players across the Philippines.

IMG_20250813_143013.jpg

When you play MCL, you only get one free ticket to join the tournament. After that, you'll need to buy tickets, which cost 20 dias each. But What I like in playing the Rising Tournament, there are collectible unlimited tickets available at the start of the game season, Before opening of the Rising Tournament schedule, and they are also offering a bonus 1 ticket in the Rising event shop every Rising Tournament (Friday-Sat.). So, even if you lose your first match, you can use another ticket to keep playing and try again.

Now, let me share with you my Rising Tournament experience.

My Rising Tournament experience!

Rising Tournament Season 1

Screenshot_2025-08-01-23-35-53-909_com.mobile.legends.jpg

My first time experience playing in the Rising Tournament of Mobile Legends wasn’t that great—of course, it was just the beginning. You can’t expect a perfect outcome right away. I consider the first trial of the game as a learning experience.

My first Rising Tournament experience happened last year, on December 27, 2024. I used my favorite mage, which is Valir. I don't know how I handled the game. All I can say is maybe I go with the flow?

My KDA during my first final game representing my neighborhood wasn’t the best—I only got 4 kills and 4 deaths. Still, with a good number of assists, it wasn’t a terrible performance. Then the next game happened after New Year. Which is January 3 this year. That time, I was fighting for our provincial bracket. I changed my role to marksman, and I used my second favorite game hero, which is Miya. For the final game, I am disappointed because I have 5 deaths, and I lack assists to my teammates because I was too eager to have a lot of kills, which is what I always noticed. If I got mad just to have kills, I would lose my control and my true goal, which is winning the trophy. Which is what I always neglected to happen. I didn’t expect much from my third tournament game, but my KDA turned out better than my first two. I managed 15 kills, though I also had 9 deaths and, not many assists. I ended up using all my tickets just to reach the regional tournament. Sadly, I tried to fight for the Luzon Regional Trophy, but it was tough. All my tickets were used up, and I lost every match. So, that is just how my Season 1 of the Rising Tournament Journey with my KDA, 6 kills, 2 deaths, and 7 assists.

Rising Tournament Season 2

Screenshot_2025-08-01-23-36-06-504_com.mobile.legends.jpg

When I shared my first season's journey playing the Rising Tournament of MLBB, did you notice the difference?

I consistently used support-to-mage heroes in my final matches during Season 2. Why? Because in every final game, I prefer using heroes I’m most comfortable with. Whenever I try a hero or role I’m not confident in, it usually leads to a loss, and that’s one of the key lessons I learned from my previous tournament season experience. Odette is one of the new mage heroes that I was using when I played rank at that time. So I decided to use her as one of the heroes I rely on to win.

What disappoints me is that, during the final game, it looked like I didn't try my best. My game score is not great enough, and I feel embarrassed right now to share it with you. I only killed one enemy and have too many deaths. But I think having more assist counts is much better than having a small count of kills just to brag.

And just like my season 1 Rising tournament journey, I only end my season 2 Rising tournament journey as a regional qualifier.

Now let's see if I have made progress in playing at the Rising Tournament. But before that, I have a question for you: do you know how to play Rising Tournament? If not, let me share some key point of what I have noticed while playing.

BANNING

IMG_20250806_224949.jpg

Banning heroes in the Rising Tournament gameplay is not the same as how you ban in a Ranking Match. In Ranking, you will ban 10 heroes in just one go. Meanwhile, in the Rising tournament, the first three positions on both teams are the ones who ban heroes and pick their heroes first.

What is the correct way to ban heroes in the Rising Tournament?

IMG_20250806_224949.jpg

For me, the hardest part of the game is being one of the first three players on your team to ban a hero. Why? because you have no idea or you don't know which hero or role your enemy will pick first. But don't worry, because if you know which heroes are the most popular or are always banned heroes from playing in the Match Ranking, you already have a basic idea of which hero you will ban first.

IMG_20250807_001848.jpg

Now, let's talk about the second part of banning. After the first three players on each team have completed their bans and picks, it's up to the last two players to handle the final hero bans and picks.

On this part of the game, it's easier for the last two players to ban compared to the first 3 players. My team already has a mage, a marksman, and an assassin. Now, which role do you think our opponent needs to ban? Of course, they need to ban Tank/Roamer and one EXP laner. It is the same to us since, I am the fourth player of our team, I am one of the last two players to ban and pick. Since our opponent already has a marksman, support, and mage, I need to ban one role/hero that they don't have yet, which is Assassin and/or Fighter. So, I banned Sun since he is the fighter hero that some players always use in playing the Rising Tournament.

Is there any correct way of banning heroes in the Rising Tournament?

I think it’s nearly impossible to maintain perfect hero bans. Like I mentioned above, the first three players on your team have to make quick decisions about who to ban, even though we can’t predict which heroes or roles the first three players on the opposing team will choose.

Another reason why we can't perfect the hero bans during the match is that because some players get too excited to ban to the point that they ban the same heroes. Reason why, some of the supposed to be banned heroes get a chance to be picked/used by the first player side to choose.

And last but not least, there are so many strong Mobile Legends heroes now that are tough to fight because of their skills. The 10 ban slots aren’t enough to cover them all, so banning those 10 heroes can feel useless—especially if your teammates aren’t good at picking heroes to counter the opponent’s lineup.

IMG_20250813_011906.jpg

For example, in one match, my first three teammates banned Rafaela, Yin, and Kimmy, while our opponents banned Saber, Selena, and Layla. I noticed that their strategy was to leave a certain hero unbanned so they could use it—a hero that always gives them a big advantage to win.

Team ban: Roamer, Fighter, Marksman, Fighter, Marksman
Enemy Ban: Assassin, Assassin, Marksman, Roamer, Fighter

So, is there really a perfect hero banning in the Rising Tournament? Banning a hero that completed the role (1 marksman, 1 fighter, 1 assassin, 1 mage, and 1 roamer) is not necessary sometimes. But we call the banning perfect if you have plans and strategy so that your enemy won't get the hero that will lead them to win and your team will win because it has more potential or chance of winning. Banning the last two heroes that they can use to counter the first three heroes of your team is enough to say it's a perfect ban.

Besides, banning is not the main basis for winning. Whether you counter the enemy or not, if your team lacks the skill to play well, the chances of losing are still higher than winning. The Rising Tournament isn’t exactly for everyone—it’s designed for players who aren’t yet famous but have the potential to become esports athletes. It's purpose is to showcase your skills so that, if you make it to the top, esports teams might notice your potential and recruit you. Recruit you? Lol

I’m not against anyone playing in the Rising Tournament—everyone starts somewhere. But in Season 3, I noticed some players still struggle with rotation and adjusting to the situation. It’s okay to experiment in a lane if it’s reasonable, like when the opponent picks an unexpected hero and you know the counter. But learning to adapt quickly is just as important as knowing your hero. It’s just frustrating that some players are now following the trend but bring a toxic vibe, just like in ranked matches. It can get stressful because it feels like I’m wasting my ticket playing. Another goal of mine this season 3 is to rise to the top and make it onto the champion or runner-up list of Rising Tournament. Champion list? HAHAHAH 😆

RT Season 3 : How many losses and wins before I got the trophies?

The tournament has seven brackets: two for Neighborhood, one for Provincial, one for Sub-Regional, one for the Regional Qualifier, the final game for the Regional, and last is for Championship.

Screenshot_2025-08-03-09-06-15-693_com.mobile.legends.jpg

As of now, I’ve finished competing in the Provincial Bracket, and in last week’s tournament, I failed to win the Sub-Regional Qualifier. I tried my best for so many attempts, but at the end I just wasted my tickets.

My record so far? Fourteen losses—ten from earlier matches and four from recent games—along with nine victories. That brings my total ticket usage to 23. Which is I think, it is more harder now that I thought compare to the previous two seasons of this tournament.

Screenshot_2025-08-13-13-06-31-165_com.mobile.legends.jpg

I still have 11 tickets left for my next games, and I’m praying I won’t need to use them all—just win after win. I’m not confident I’ll make it to the Championship, especially since I missed part of the tournament schedule. But even so, if I can at least reach the Luzon Regional Finals, that will be enough for me this season. Wahhh!

Screenshot_2025-08-13-11-24-27-079_com.mobile.legends.jpg

Can you see that badge? Girl, I want that so badly as a player of this game. I hope that one day I can display it on my account—even if it’s just the simplest title. But as a solo player, I know it’ll be tough to reach. Sad.

For some people, this might mean nothing. But for me, I love playing games. I truly enjoy it, even though I know it won’t guarantee me a bright future, make me rich, or be the best use of my time. Still, the moments I spend fighting for my place make me feel confident as a player—because I carry my hometown with me in every victory. I’m proud to represent this quiet place, a place unknown to many because it’s just a simple neighborhood, a humble barangay, a province rarely mentioned because the city always takes the spotlight.

I'm not a good and perfect player like other players out there, but I'm trying my best every match. I'm trying to improve my gameplay.

Flexing Uranus Rising-themed skin! I got it by playing Rising Tournament. You can buy it at the MRO Shop by accumulating enough Rising Coins.
