Weekends are supposed to be our time to rest — a day to spend with our family, friends, ourselves, and even a day to reconnect with God. But not everyone has that privilege. Some people still have to work during weekends, and even housewives continue their usual weekday routines at home. They can’t just leave things undone because if they do, it’ll only cause more problems for them in the coming week.
As for me, I just stay at home. I’m single, and I can manage my own time. So even if I get a bit lazy with my chores on weekends, it’s not really a problem since I’m the only one doing cleaning in this house. It’s not even my house, but the people living here with me are all older now. My sister has a child, and my younger cousin is lazy, so… yeah, everything that needs to be done in this house ends up being my responsibility. Even my aunt, who’s living abroad, always tells me what to do for the sake of her parents. She tells and instructs me to do the things that need to be done—like paying the bills, doing the groceries, and so on. BUT I decide when to do this or that — no pressure, no deadlines, just me and my own pace.
Well, the question for this weekend is whether I have any household chores I can skip or leave undone. Actually, there’s one—or maybe even two? that I can! And I’m pretty sure some of you can relate to this too.
Can you see those clothes? Now you’ve got a hint! 😌😆 I admit, my room is always clean and organized before—but my cabinet? Not so much. I’m honestly too lazy to fold my clothes. I usually organize my cabinet only once or twice a month. Even after I finish doing the laundry and the clothes are dry, I just hang them inside with the hangers and call it a day.
Sometimes, when my laundry day falls on a Friday, I just leave my clothes hanging on the rack for the whole weekend. Like I said, I get lazy on weekends, so I usually fold them at night on a weekday instead.
Do you know how many hours it took me to finish folding all these clothes? three hours! 🥹 But to be fair, I was watching a Korean drama while doing it. HAHAHA 😆 I honestly hate folding clothes it’s so boring, and my back always ends up hurting! 😑
Did I tell you before that I always love keeping my room clean and organized? I bet I did. I usually make time to tidy up my room even when I’m busy or not feeling well. But lately, these past few weeks, I’ve been way too lazy to clean or organize anything. I honestly don’t know why—and believe me, I hate this version of myself right now. Huhu 😭 I really miss my clean girl era and it's giving dugyot girl now. Booo 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
I don't know if this is really what it is when you get older. Becoming lazy on things you love to do—even on weekends, I can leave my room looking like it was attacked by the hurricane.
Before this clean look of my room, it was dirty for many weeks or even a month. I got a lot of webs on the ceiling and on my fan; there is some dust under and on the back of my cabinet, some dust on the floor, and even plastic from the things I used. I even questioned and came back to my senses when I looked inside my room last wednesday, "How can I manage to breathe well inside this kind of room?" So that's how I started to fold my clothes and organize my cabinet, and I cleaned my room on that day and finished all around 9 in the evening because I also do my laundry.
So yeah… these are the chores that I can leave during the weekend and do on weekdays. But I really hope that I can be back to normal again, cleaning my room even on weekends. 🙅🏻♀️
