Today I bought eight shares of Verizon (VZ) for $355.60 USD (1 share was $44.45 USD at the time of buying).
I bought Verizon shares, because Verizon nowadays is one of the most successful and one of the most known telecommunications company, and it is increased its stock dividend payout for 19 consecutive years.
Currently it is offering 6.22% annual dividend yield, and a quarterly dividend of $0.69 USD per share.
I plan to hold and build my investments of this stock for long term (probably for decades, depending on the dividends in the future).
I plan to open positions worth more than $200 USD to save on transaction fees, including order opening costs.
Later I will buy more stocks from various other companies too to diversify the portfolio.
I plan to build up a well diversified portfolio in the next years to build passive income from dividends to get out of deep poverty.
Of course over time I will reinvest the dividends too.
And of course this is not an investment advice.
I am a beginner investor, not a financial expert/advisor.
Everyone should do their own research before investing any amount of money into anything.
I wish successful investing to everyone.
