Good morning to all music lovers!
How are you starting this week? Have you noticed that we are already in the ninth month of the year? How time flies, doesn't it? And today I bring you another birthday boy.
Born on September 9, 1950, John McFee, singer-songwriter, guitarist, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, is one of the longest-standing members of The Doobie Brothers.
I didn't associate some of this group's best-known songs with this name, but luckily, when I looked up the list of today's birthdays, I came across this name, and after listening to Spotify, I immediately associated the band with the songs. Born in Santa Fe, California, McFee has been part of many projects throughout his extensive career, joining The Doobie Brothers in 1979, replacing guitarist Jeff Baxter who was leaving.
McFee participated in the band's ninth album, entitled “One Step Closer.”
After The Doobie Brothers split up five years later, in 1982, McFee and Knudsen formed a country-rock group called Southern Pacific.
McFee became popular on the pedal steel guitar, a type of steel-stringed guitar that uses pedals and levers to alter the pitch of certain strings, allowing for greater freedom of sound and variety compared to traditional steel guitars.
But I'll leave the considerations and comments aside. And I'll leave you here with three of the best-known songs by The Doobie Brothers, some of which were not produced by McFee, as you might expect. I'm not extensively familiar with the band's repertoire, so here are just three of their biggest hits.
I don't know about you, but these songs from the 70s and 80s always put me in a good mood and give me energy! I'm heading to Lisbon in a few moments for a routine appointment at the hospital, and I already feel full of energy and in a good mood!

Como é que estão a começar esta semana? Já reparam que já estamos no nono mês do ano? Como o tempo passa, não é verdade? E para hoje trago-vos mais um aniversariante.
Nascido a 9 de Setembro de 1950, John McFee, cantor compositor, guitarrista, produtor e multi-instrumentista, é um dos membros mais antigos dos The Doobie Brothers.
Eu não associava algumas das canções mais conhecidas desta grupo a este nome, mas felizmente ao ter ido procurar a lista dos aniversariantes do dia, deparei-me com este nome, e da pesquisa a associação de banda com as músicas foi imediata após escuta no Spotify. Nascido em Santa Fé, Califórnia, McFee fez parte de muitos projectos ao longo da extensa carreira, tendo juntado ao The Doobie Brothers em 1979, em substituição do guitarrista Jeff Baxter que estava de saída.
McFee participou no nono álbum da banda, intitulado de "One Step Closer".
Depois de dos The Doobie Brothers se terem separado cinco anos mais tarde, em 1982, McFee e Knudsen formaram um grupo de country-rock Southern Pacific.

Mas vou deixar-me de considerações, e de comentários. E vou deixar-vos aqui três das faixas musicais mais conhecidas dos "The Doobie Brothers", algumas delas não foram produzidas pelo McFee, como devem calcular. Não conheço o reportório da banda de uma forma extensiva, por isso aqui ficam apenas três dos seus maiores êxitos.
Não sei em relação a vocês, mas estas músicas dos anos 70 80 deixam-me sempre muito bem disposto e energizado! Vou a Lisboa dentro de momentos para uma consulta de rotina no Hospital, e já me sinto cheio de energia e boa disposição!
