Here's my entry into the #monomad challenge. This past Sunday was Father's Day here in Aotearoa New Zealand. It was a lovely day and i do so love walking the trails around the city. Wrights Hill Reserve is a gorgeous spot with beautiful views of Wellington and the surrounding areas. It was used as a gun emplacement durring WW II to protect Wellington harbour. It was only fored once in 1948 after the war. The blast shattered windows in the nearby suburbs. The gun was dismantled in the 1960's and sold for scrap - back to the Japanese who it was design to protect the harbour from during the war. Now it is a peaceful and lovely spot from which to admire this beautiful city. Cheers!
