So for my birthday this year, I decide to do something a bit different and hold a solo art exhibition at Covenant from the 1st-15th of August 2025. I've been showing a few pieces at a local gallery here in Wellington, Covenant - Dark Art, Culture, and Magick when she has group shows. I have not held a solo show in over 30 years and I felt like this would be a good birthday gift to myself. I mostly do art for table top RPGs but my background is in fine art. I love art galleries and have long wanted to get back into that kind of setting, but I really didn't know what direction to take things. Being a fan of things like horror movies, the occult, punk/goth/extreme metal, and just the esoteric in general, I decided to take my 20+ years of RPG illustration experience and leverage that to develop a solo show based around the themes I really enjoy. So from that, my show, Strange Alchemy was born. I have 25 pieces in this show, plus prints and art zines. It has been so amazing to see the art I have just been doing for myself over the past two years come together like this. I've even managed to sell four original pieces so far and I still have a week to go. I think I'm going to try and make this, or something like this my annual birthday celebration. So much fun.
