Last Sunday was such a beautiful day that it was irresistible not to admire it from the highest point of Barinas, so we decided to embark on our trip to the Mirador de Barinas. This viewpoint is located in the town of Palma Sola, specifically in the parish of Alto Barinas, about 35 km east of the city of Barinas and about 26 km from Obispos. The Mirador Palma Sola is an area of high altitude that allows you to enjoy beautiful panoramic views. We started our way by motorcycle, although I saw that several people were going by car, as I do not know if it is very advisable to go by bike, since the road is mostly rocky. The trip began undoubtedly full of expectations and a lot of curiosity, as we entered the agro-ecological zone, beyond contemplating the whole environment, we connected with the land, the green that surrounded us and the immensity of the blue sky. This road begins with a dirt path that goes into the mountains full of vegetation and along which you can see long metal towers, without many indicators to see on the road, we advanced steadily and guided only by the Google map.

El domingo pasado estaba tan bonito el día que fue irresistibles no admirarlo desde lo más alto de Barinas, así que decidimos emprender nuestro recorrido hasta el Mirador de Barinas. Dicho mirador se encuentra en la localidad de Palma Sola específicamente en la parroquia Alto Barinas, aproximadamente está a unos 35km al este de la ciudad de Barinas, y a unos 26km de obispos. El Mirador Palma Sola es una zona de altura que permite vistas panorámicas muy hermosas. Nosotros emprendimos nuestro camino en moto, más sin embargo vi que varios entraron con carro, en cuanto a la bicicleta no sé qué tan recomendable sea puesto que la carretera al llegar en su mayoría tiene muchas piedras. El trayecto lo comenzamos sin duda lleno de expectativas y mucha curiosidad, al entrar a la zona agroecológica más allá de contemplar todo el alrededor se conecta con la tierra, lo verde alrededor y la inmensidad del cielo azul. Este camino comienza con un sendero de tierra entrando a hacia las montañas lleno de vegetación y a lo largo se aprecian torres largas y metálicas, sin muchos habladores que ver en el camino íbamos firme y guiados solo por el mapa de Google.


We were still firm, trusting only in what the map indicated, since on the road there was no sign indicating how far we were, until finally minutes later, deep inside the mountain we saw a wooden sign with white handwritten letters, which expressed the welcome or at least that we were already on the right path, the specific sign says “El Mirador Palma Sola, Barinas”. And here I just thought that the experience had begun, and the noise of the city was completely clear and the sky in its best expression, clear and with that intense blue that fills you with so much peace and calm. We continued advancing on our motorcycle full of more confidence after seeing the sign, we were still waiting to get another arrow until a man asked us and told us that we were going in the wrong direction, that we should return to the entrance we had passed, if there was an arrow but we had not seen it, luckily we had not advanced so much so we did not have to go back much, the man told us that several people had already passed by, the truth is that we need more signs to be more sure of the road and not to pass by.

Aun seguíamos firmes confiando solo en lo que indicaba el mapa, ya que en la vía no había ningún letrero que indicara cuanto nos faltaba, hasta que por fin minutos más tardes muy dentro de la montaña ya vimos un letrero de madera con letras blancas escritas a mano, la cual expresaba la bienvenida o al menos que ya íbamos por el camino correcto, el letrero especifico dice “El Mirador Palma Sola, Barinas”. Y aquí solo pensaba que la experiencia había iniciado, ya el ruido de la ciudad estaba totalmente despejado y el cielo en su mejor expresión, despejado y con ese azul tan intenso donde te llena de tanta paz y calma. Seguimos avanzando en nuestra moto llenos de más confianza luego de ver el letrero, seguíamos a la espera de conseguir otra flecha hasta que un señor nos pregunta y nos comenta que íbamos en la dirección incorrecta, que debíamos regresar a la entrada que habíamos pasado, si había una flecha pero no la habíamos visto, por suerte no habíamos avanzado tanto así que no teníamos que retroceder mucho, el señor nos comenta que ya varias personas habían pasado de largo, la verdad si hace falta más letreros para estar más seguros del camino y así no pasar de largo.

And we arrived when the sun was just hiding between the clouds giving its last flashes reflecting the shades of the sky in its most perfect moment, the colors between yellow, orange and blue certainly fill you with so much calm, upon arrival we did not talk much the truth was not necessary, just breathe and admire such beauty, being in the viewpoint made me understand that there are moments that are not explained simply feel, and see Barinas so tiny decorated around full of nature was one of them.

Y llegamos cuando justo el sol estaba escondiéndose entre las nubes dando sus últimos destellos reflejando las tonalidades del cielo en su momento más perfecto, los colores entre el amarillo, naranja y azul sin duda te llenan de tanta calma, al llegar no hablamos mucho la verdad no hacía falta, solo respiramos y admiramos tal belleza, estar en el mirador me hizo entender que hay momentos que no se explican simplemente se siente, y ver a Barinas tan diminuta decorada a su alrededor llena de naturaleza fue una de ellas.


We stayed for a while until the sun finally went down, and the flashes of light were no longer visible. The calm is incredible and the connection inexplicable, although we didn't get to the top we had a good view point to appreciate the city. Nature is incredibly perfect🍃.

Nos quedamos un rato hasta que el sol terminará por esconderse, y ya los destellos de luz no se apreciaban. La calma es increíble y la conexión inexplicable, aunque no llegamos a la cima tuvimos un buen punto de vista para apreciar la ciudad. La naturaleza es increíblemente perfecta🍃.
