Hey, how's it going?
Hey! So today I wanna show you this drawing I did for Marcos ( @radaquest) one of the commissions I got to work for his game project. Tbh, I’m super fond of this one. As usual, he gave me full creative freedom, which is always awesome.

Rarity: Legendary
Power: 16 Power
Faction: Shadow
Out of a few concepts I had in mind, I pitched a cowgirl idea, and he loved it hmmm so we went with that one. I made two versions, like I normally do: a standard base and an extended one. Today I’m just sharing the base. I saved a bunch of progress pics for this version (not the extended one, sadly), but I think I have a video somewhere lol yesssss

I started with some super rough lines , nothing detailed, just a way to get the idea down. It was basically a quick concept sketch, kind of like thumbnails, just to show him what I was thinking. Then I jumped into grayscale, adding some values to give it volume and figure out where the light and shadows would go.

For this one, I worked in Photoshop. Btw, I do use Corel (well, ColorPainter) sometimes, especially when I wanna get a more artsy, painterly vibe. Yes, I know it has layers too lol, but I personally use it differently hmmmm more for expressive stuff. When I want more structure and control, Photoshop’s my go-to.

Once the grayscale base was solid, I added color using a “soft light” or “overlay” layer same trick as always. From there, it was all about refining: fixing proportions, adding little details, tweaking parts of the outfit I wasn’t 100% happy with, and doing some gold accents here and there.

I didn’t go too crazy with the background cause just wanted something simple to support the main character without stealing attention. I threw in some color to keep the balance, but kept it chill.

To improve what I already had and keep making progress with the drawing... I added some touches and little details. There was still a lot to do and fix, but the design was already looking better. Besides that, I also worked a bit on the background and improved the lighting a little…
At the end, I did the usual round of color and saturation adjustments, cleaned everything up, and... done! Marcos loved it, I loved it, and everything came out great, so yay lol
Thank you very much for taking the time to view my work.
