Zingtober - Day 20 : Rivals

**Good night or good morning everyone, hope u all doing great.** So this time for Zingtober, I went with the Light Healer and the Ocean Healer hmmmmm I do tend to draw female healers way more often than male ones... idk why, maybe I just find them more interesting to work with, or maybe it’s the vibe they give off when I’m sketching. Anyway, I thought it’d be cool to make them face each other as rivals this time, kinda switching things up a bit from what I usually do. And honestly, once I got into it, it turned out way more fun than I expected.  Unlike the previous ones, this piece was 100% done in Corel Painter. And tbh, I think I finally found a brush I like more than the ink ones 😅. This one’s got more texture, more life in it, so yeah, I just stayed in Painter till the end. Lately I’ve been trying to get better with line work , yessssss it’s always been tricky for me — but I feel like I’ve made some progress these days. Slowly learning to handle the lines without overthinking them, and it’s starting to feel more natural yaayy. The idea for this piece actually came from an old drawing I did years ago. It wasn’t really that similar, but the pose had something that just felt right for this rivals theme. I looked at it again and thought, “hmm, this could actually work if I tweak it a bit.” So I took that old sketch as a loose reference and built something new out of it. The original vibe was kinda different, but I liked how the positioning between the characters gave that subtle tension... perfect for two healers facing off. It’s funny how some old ideas randomly come back and end up fitting perfectly when you least expect it lol. Now the funny part... when I started doing the Ocean Healer’s hair, I wasn’t planning to use lines at all, but the brush gave such a nice texture that I couldn’t stop. Ended up loving how it looked, especially on the hair. Then I had this hilarious moment .... I was using the symmetry tool, zoomed in, just normal… and when I zoomed out, I realized I had drawn the Ocean Healer’s hair on the wrong head ahahahhahahahhaha had to swap it over completely, you can actually see that in one of the process shots lol justI selected it and made the change. As usual, yes ! I recorded the process video, but this time was a bit different. Corel Painter doesn’t let you open multiple windows of the same file (sooooo sad for me), so some steps are more zoomed in than others. In Photoshop I normally work in one window and record from another screen, but here it was all straight hmmmm -up one view — no fancy setup, just raw workflow. Still, I really liked how it turned out. Felt more natural, less “perfect,” more about just letting things flow and seeing where it goes. That’s probs why I like this brush so much yesssss it’s messy in a good way. Anyway, it was a fun experience overall. Not just ‘cause of the final piece, but ‘cause I got to loosen up, laugh at my own mistakes, and keep experimenting. That’s def the part I enjoy most lately.  # Thank you very much for taking the time to view my work. A while ago I was looking for this little shark you see down here 🦈. It’s really special to me. I won it a long time ago here, n it was done by a person many years ago but also I consider a **GREAT** **GREAT** **GREAT** **FRIEND** now n who does amazing work , very talented🤗. I thought I had lost it , I was very sad… but noooo! I got it back! Yes ! He found n sent it to me again, and I’m so happy to have it with me once more.
