The Box Doesn't Choose at Random... There's a Pattern --- I think the more I think about this film, the more I understand it. Writing this post and analyzing the events of the film and what its director wanted to convey, I understand a pattern that unites Polly, the old woman, and young Tara (the final victim). All three lived a kind of **voluntary social isolation**, loneliness, and possibly depression. The old woman at one point tells Polly that she doesn't know why they were chosen, but I think the cursed box doesn't really choose at random; it selects a specific type of people who are in a state of psychological fragility. I think the entire film is a great metaphor. * For the old woman, I feel that her isolation comes from that final stage of life, where we are alone, desperate, and lacking support. * Polly, she seemed insecure, unwilling to fight and move forward, talking to her mom on the phone when she was insecure. She loves her niece but doesn't have a good relationship with her sister and is very distant from their lives. In other words, she isolates herself from the few family members she has left, suffers from trauma, and even lost her faith and hope when her father died. * Tara, when Polly first spoke to her, Tara told her that her parents went on a trip, leaving her alone in the house. I sensed that she felt excluded or not included in their fun plans. I think Tara also had an emptiness or a feeling of abandonment or detachment that made her feel "cut off from others."

La Caja no escoge al Azar... Hay un Patrón --- Esta película creo que mientras más la pienso, más la entiendo. Haciendo este post y analizando los acontecimientos de la película y lo que nos quiso decir su director, entiendo un patrón que une a Polly, la anciana y la joven Tara (la víctima final). Las tres vivían como un **Aislamiento social voluntario** de alguna forma, la soledad y posiblemente la depresión. La anciana en un momento se dice a Polly que no sabe por qué las eligen, pero creo que la caja maldita realmente no elige al azar, selecciona a un tipo específico de personas que se encuentran en un estado de fragilidad psicológica, creo que toda la película es una gran METÁFORA. * La anciana, siento que su aislamiento viene de esa etapa final de la vida, donde estamos solos, desesperados y falta de apoyo. * Polly, ella se nos mostró insegura, sin querer luchar y salir adelante, hablando con su mamá por teléfono cuando está insegura, ama a su sobrina pero no tiene buena relación con su hermana y está muy distante de sus vidas. Es decir, se aísla de los pocos familiares que le quedan, tiene traumas e incluso perdió la fe y la esperanza cuando murió su papá. * Tara, cuando Polly habla la primera vez con ella, Tara le dice que sus padres se fueron de viaje, la dejan sola en la casa. Percibí que se sentía excluida o no incluida en sus planes de diversión. Creo que Tara también tenía un vacío o una sensación de abandono o desapego que la hace sentir "apartada de los demás".
