Fans of the DEXTER series (like myself) are well acquainted with their chronology and have watched them develop with each episode and season. I'd like to share the series' chronology, which is as follows: * [DEXTER](https://www.filmaffinity.com/es/film482444.html) Starting in 2006, we first met Dexter Morgan, a forensic blood spatter analyst for the Miami Metro Police Department. With eight seasons and 96 episodes, we were hooked on Michael C. Hall's performance, listening to his voiceover, discussing his thoughts, motivations, and unique worldview. * [DEXTER NEW BLOOD](https://www.filmaffinity.com/es/filmimages.php?movie_id=366466) After the previous ending, Dexter flees to upstate New York (not New York City, but New York State), where he begins another life with a fictitious identity. Esta serie está en transmisión a la fecha de esta publicación, lleva 3 capítulos y todos los viernes se estrena uno nuevo, hasta completar los 10 capítulos de esta temporada.

* [DEXTER ORIGINAL SIN](https://www.filmaffinity.com/es/filmimages.php?movie_id=782160) In 2024, this franchise gave us a 10-episode prequel that showed us how young Dexter began before working for the Police Department, how he discovered his "dark passenger" and how he perfected his own killing style, his relationship with his sister and his father, who taught him the code of killing. Personally, I didn't like this series very much. It's appreciated that they showed us all these details, but for me, the absence of actor Michael C. Hall weighed heavily. He obviously couldn't play young Dexter. Instead, he was played by Patrick Gibson, and we had Michael C. Hall doing only his voiceover.

* [DEXTER ORIGINAL SIN](https://www.filmaffinity.com/es/filmimages.php?movie_id=782160) En el año 2024 esta franquicia nos regaló una Precuela de 10 capítulos donde nos mostraban cómo fueron los inicios del joven Dexter, antes de trabajar en el Departamento de Policía, como descubrió a su "pasajero oscuro" y cómo fue perfeccionando su propio estilo de matar, la relación con su hermana y con su padre que le enseñó el código para matar. Personalmente esta serie no me gustó mucho, se valora que nos hayan mostrado todos estos detalles, pero para mí peso mucho la ausencia del actor Michael C. Hall, quien obviamente no podría interpretar al joven Dexter, y en su lugar lo interpretó Patrick Gibson, y tuvimos a Michael C. Hall solo haciendo su voz en off.

Aclarando la Cronología de las series de DEXTER, ahora quiero hablarles sobre [DEXTER RESURRECTION](https://www.filmaffinity.com/es/filmimages.php?movie_id=351162) con Michael C. Hall interpretando nuevamente a Dexter Morgan, quien luego de unas pocas semanas después que su propio hijo le disparara y lo dejara tirado en la nieve (DEXTER NEW BLOOD), es atendido por los médicos y está de regreso. Su compañero Ángel Batista (David Zayas) está emocionado de verlo vivo, no tiene claro todos los eventos y no lo ve como el Asesino Serial, así que retoman esa relación y lo ayudó para recuperar su verdadera identidad de Dexter Morgan. Although many might think this new series is simply intended to further undermine the character, the writers and directors apparently have a very interesting vision for bringing him back, with his identity and a firm commitment to helping his son Harrison, who is killing just as Dexter taught him, and Dexter wants to make sure he covers up his mistakes so he isn't discovered by the police. Additionally, we have a larger plot where Dexter will be part of something bigger: an organization where a woman named Charley, played by none other than Uma Thurman, is contacting killers to work for her. We'll also have actor Peter Dinklage, but we haven't seen him yet as of Episode 3. I assume he'll be one of the new killers or perhaps a leader of the organization.

Aunque mucho podrían pensar que esta nueva serie solo tiene el objetivo de seguir gastando al personaje, aparentemente los escritores y directores si tienen una visión muy interesante para traerlo de vuelta, con su identidad y con el firme propósito de ayudar a su hijo Harrison, quien está matando tal como Dexter le enseñó, y Dexter se quiere asegurar de cubrir sus errores para que no sea descubierto por la policía. Adicionalmente, tenemos un trama más grande donde Dexter formará parte de algo más grande, una organización donde una mujer llamada Charley e interpretada nada más y nada menos que por Uma Thurman, está contactando a asesinos para que trabajen para ella. También tendremos al actor Peter Dinklage, pero hasta el capítulo 3 todavía no lo hemos visto, supongo que será uno de los nuevos asesinos o tal vez un jefe de la organización.

Quisiera decirles LO QUE ME GUSTO y LO QUE NO ME GUSTÓ de lo que hemos visto hasta la fecha.

* The argument for bringing Dexter back. I think they've created a credible justification for bringing Dexter back, not under a false identity, but just the way we fans wanted him. * Having Michael C. Hall play Dexter Morgan again. * Dexter's voiceover, featuring his thoughts, motivations, and, above all, his dark humor, echoing the style of the first Dexter series. * The new cast, with Uma Thurman and Peter Dinklage. I think having actors of this caliber in the cast already tells us that this series will be very valuable.

* El argumento para tener de vuelta a Dexter. Me parece que lograron una justificación creíble para tener nuevamente a Dexter y no con una identidad falsa, sino tal como lo queríamos los fans. * Tener a Michael C. Hall interpretando nuevamente a Dexter Morgan. * La voz en off de Dexter con sus pensamientos, motivaciones y sobre todo el Humor Negro, retomando mucho el estilo de la primera serie DEXTER. * El casting nuevo con Uma Thurman y Peter Dinklage, creo que tener a actores de este calibre en el casting ya nos dice que esta serie tendrá mucho valor.

* Although I think the argument they used to justify Dexter's return was credible to a certain extent, I think there may be some logical gaps, especially given the time Dexter spent retired under another identity in DEXTER NEW BLOOD. We'll see as the following episodes unfold if they can sustain this credibly, or if they're simply going to play dumb and deny those events. * Although I'm excited about the subplot or the new plot with the addition of new characters, I would like to see the development of the following episodes ensure it doesn't feel like it's going to become another very different series that's simply riding on the franchise's fame. It's something I sensed at times during these first three episodes. I hope they take care to prevent this from happening.

* Aunque el argumento que utilizaron para justificar el regreso de Dexter creo que hasta cierto punto fue creíble, considero que pudiesen quedar vacíos lógicos, sobre todo por el tiempo que pasó Dexter retirado con otra identidad en DEXTER NEW BLOOD. Veremos con el desarrollo de los siguientes capítulos si logran sostener creíble esto, o si simplemente se van a hacer los locos y negar esos eventos. * Aunque me emociona la sub trama o la nueva trama con la incorporación de nuevos personajes, quisiera ver con el desarrollo de los siguientes capítulos que no se vaya a sentir como que se va a convertir en otra serie muy diferente que simplemente se está colgando de la fama de la franquicia. Es algo que percibí de a ratos durante estos primeros 3 capítulos, deseo que tengan el cuidado para que no pase esto.
