I love series based on true historical events because they allow us to learn about the history of different countries and cultures. But it's important to remember that in many of these productions, the director(s) take certain creative liberties to engage the audience, so these productions are always criticized for how certain events are presented. I think we should relax a bit and enjoy them, and if we find them interesting, we have a basis from them to do our own research with more informative and perhaps less entertaining sources. I just finished watching the 8-part miniseries "King and Conqueror," and I must confess that I was drawn to it because of one of its stars, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, whom we primarily remember for his role as Jamie Lannister in Game of Thrones. I had no idea what this new production was about; I thought it was also a fantasy series, but to my surprise, it is actually based on a true story.
Me encantan las series basadas en hechos históricos reales, porque nos permiten conocer la historia de diferentes países y culturas. Pero es importante recordar que en muchas de estas producciones el o los directores se toman ciertas libertades creativas para enganchar con la audiencia, así que ciertamente estas producciones siempre tienen críticas sobre como se plantean algunos hechos. Yo creo que hay que relajarse un poco y disfrutarlas, y si nos parece interesante tenemos a partir de ellas, una base para hacer nuestras propias investigaciones con fuentes más informativas y tal vez menos recreativas. Acabo de terminar de ver la mini serie “Rey y Conquistador,” de 8 capítulos, y debo confesar que llegué a ella por uno de sus protagonistas, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau a quien principalmente recordamos por su papel como Jamie Lannister en la serie Juegos de Tronos. Y no tenía conocimiento de que se trataba esta nueva producción, pensé que era algo de fantasía también, pero para mi sorpresa pues si está basada en la historia real.
