Frankenstein is a well-known character, and his distinctive green color, along with details such as screws and scars, make him very easy and fun to create in gift boxes. Continuing with the Halloween theme, in this post I will make some boxes that are ideal for giving to children at Halloween parties, or for them to take with them on the traditional “Trick or Treat” Although this is not a tradition in my country, I think children have opportunistically taken it over to ask for their respective sweets and also to have fun with their often improvised costumes. In this post, I will make my version of this Frankenstein box, using a recycled cardboard box... Welcome.

Frankenstein es un personaje muy reconocido y su color verde característico junto a los detalles como los tornillos y las cicatrices hacen que sean muy fácil y divertido de crear en cajitas de obsequio. Siguiendo con la temática en el mes de Halloween, en esta publicación haré unas cajitas ideales para obsequiar a los niños en las fiestas de Halloween, o también para que las lleven en él acostumbrado "Dulce o Truco", Y es que aunque esta no es una tradición de mi país, creo que los niños se han adueñado oportunamente de ella para pedir sus respectivos dulces y también divertirse con sus disfraces muchas veces improvisados. En esta publicación haré mi versión de esta cajita de Frankenstein, utilizando una caja de cartón reciclada... Bienvenidos.

* Recycled cardboard box * Frosted green foam * Black, purple, and frosted silver cardstock * Green crepe paper * Scissors, ruler, cutter * Hot glue * White cold paint and dot paint or brush

* Caja de cartón reciclada * Foami de color verde escarchado * Cartulinas de color negro, morado y plateada escarchada * Papel crepé verde * Tijera regla cutter * Pega silicón caliente * Pintura al frío blanca y pinta puntos o pincel

I used a recycled cardboard box that had originally contained a hair straightener we bought and kept, and I was finally able to use it. If you don't have a box of the size you want, you can simply make one out of cardboard. I cut it to a height of 18 cm and covered it with frosted green foam up to 14 cm, turning it around and using hot silicone. It's best to leave the joints on the sides or behind.

Utilicé una caja de cartón reciclada, era de una plancha de cabello que compramos y guardé, finalmente pude utilizarla. En caso de no tener una caja del tamaño que deseemos, podemos simplemente hacerla con cartón. La corté para que tuviese una altura de 18cms, y forré en foami verde escarchado hasta los 14cms, dando la vuelta alrededor, utilizando silicón caliente. Es bueno dejar las uniones a los lados o detrás.

For the top part, I used black cardstock because I thought the combination of materials would be interesting. With a 7 cm strip, I made a triangle shape for what would be the part connecting Frankenstein's hair and face, and then I glued it with white school glue.

En la parte superior utilicé cartulina de color negro, me pareció interesante la combinación de materiales. Con una franja de 7cms, realicé una forma de triángulos para lo que sería la parte que une el cabello y la cara de este Frankenstein, y luego pegué con pega blanca escolar.

I used a round shape to make the circles for the eyes. I used adhesive tape, but you can use cold paint or anything else that gives you the desired shape. I cut out three sizes from white, black, and purple cardstock for the eyes. I cut very thin strips from the black cardstock using a craft knife and a ruler, and used them to create the scar design on the top of the forehead. I attached it with white school glue.

Con alguna forma redonda realicé los círculos para los ojos, yo utilicé una cinta adhesiva, pero puede usarse la base de la pintura al frío o cualquier otra que nos de la forma deseada. Corté en 3 tamaños en cartulina blanca, negra y morada, para lo ojos. En cartulina negra corté tiras muy delgadas utilizando el cúter y la regla, con ellas hice el diseño de la cicatriz que tiene arriba en la frente, y la pegué con pega blanca escolar.

I also cut out some shapes for the nose and mouth from black cardstock. Then I glued everything onto one side of the frosted green foam box. Another detail that couldn't be overlooked are the screws on either side of Frankenstein's face. There are two of them, and I cut them out of silver frosted cardboard and glued them on with hot glue. I painted some dots on the black part of the eyes with white cold paint.

También en cartulina negra corté algunas formas para la nariz y la boca. Lugo todo lo pegué en el foami verde escarchado de la caja, en uno de sus lados. Otro detalle que no se podía dejar pasar, son los tornillos que Frankenstein tiene a los lados de su cara, son dos y los corté en cartulina escarchada plateada, y los pegué con silicón caliente. Con pintura al frío de color blanco pinté unos puntos en la parte negra de los ojos.

To make it more interesting, I think it would be nice to use light green crepe paper to put the sweets and treats that will be given to the children as gifts, or where they can put the sweets they are given.

Para darle mayor interés me parece lindo utilizar papel crepé de color verde claro para introducir ahí los dulces y golosinas que se darán de obsequio a los niños, o donde ellos pueden colocar los dulces que les regalen.

I think this little Frankenstein box is really fun. We can give this character, who is so beloved by children, different expressions. I chose this one, but we could make him look scared, angry, with his mouth open, etc. There are so many designs I would like to make for this Halloween season... And you... Me parece muy divertida esta cajita de Frankenstein, a este personaje tan querido por los niños le podemos dar diferentes expresiones, yo elegí está, pero podemos hacerlo asustado, molesto, con la boca abierta, etc. Hay demasiados motivos que quisiera hacer para esta temporada de Halloween...
