Fungi Friday. Russulas by my birch trees

Hello, friends! Last week, I showed you some birch boletes growing near my birch trees — the very same birches I planted along the border of my plot more than ten years ago, where a fence was supposed to be. Now, under those trees, I find not only birch boletes but other mushrooms too. Today, I’d like to share some photos of russulas. These are quite tasty mushrooms, and many foragers gladly collect them. I used to pick them myself, but lately, I do it less often. The thing is — my freezer is already full of chanterelles I gathered with friends. Besides that, there are slippery jacks growing not far from home — they’re also delicious! And, of course, there are porcini mushrooms, which we regularly hunt for during our little “silent hunts” with friends. As for russulas, these days I mostly photograph them — just like I did today.
Привіт, друзі! Минулого тижня я вже показував вам підберезники, які ростуть біля моїх беріз. Це ті самі берези, які я понад 10 років тому посадив уздовж межі своєї ділянки — там, де мав бути паркан. Тепер під цими деревами з'являються не лише підберезники, а й інші гриби. Сьогодні хочу поділитися з вами фото сироїжок. Це доволі смачні гриби, які багато грибників охоче збирають. Я також колись їх збирав, але останнім часом — рідше. Річ у тім, що в мене вже повна морозилка лисичок, які я назбирав з друзями, крім того неподалік від мого дому ростуть маслюки, які є дуже смачними, ну і звісно, ще є білі гриби, за якими ми з друзями їздимо у "тихі полювання". Сироїжки ж останнім часом я просто фотографую — як сьогодні.

This time, I came across an interesting find: the underside of one of the russulas was covered with mold. In other words, another fungus — mold — had started growing on the mushroom itself. It looks a bit strange, but such things happen in nature more often than we think.	Цього разу натрапив на цікаву знахідку: одна з сироїжок знизу вкрилася пліснявою. Тобто на грибі почав рости інший гриб — цвіль. Виглядає трохи дивно, але такі речі в природі трапляються частіше, ніж здається.

And a few extra bonuses — it’s not just russulas growing under my birch trees. In the same spot, I also found a young birch bolete and a type of milk cap mushroom.	І ще кілька бонусів — під моїми берізками ростуть не лише сироїжки. Там же знайшов молодого підберезника, а також грузді (один з видів).
