In this week #287, we explore the theme: “The Future.” I am pleased to share my trumpet performance of “Pretty Little Baby,” a romantic song composed by Don Stirling and Bill Nauman, and performed by Connie Francis in 1962. The lyrics speak of a person asking their partner to come back and give them another chance. The key of the song is Db major, and it briefly modulates to D major. In my case, I play it in Eb major, and it modulates to E major. The melody has soft, repetitive, ascending phrases. The harmonic progressions are simple with diatonic chords. The rhythm is moderate and constant with a regular pulse and a 4/4 time signature. This musical piece blends genres such as traditional pop, romantic ballads, and influences from teen pop and doo-wop.

Tengo el agrado de compartir mi interpretación con mi trompeta de «Pretty Little Baby», Una canción por romántica compuesta por Don Stirling y Bill Nauman, e interpretada por Connie Francis en 1962. La letra habla de una persona que le pide a su pareja que regrese y le dé otra oportunidad. La tonalidad de la canción es Db mayor, y modula brevemente a D mayor. En mi caso la interpreto en Eb mayor y modula a E mayor. La melodía tiene frases suaves, repetitivas y ascendentes. Las progresiones armónicas son sencillas con acordes diatónicos. El ritmo es moderado y constante con un pulso regular y una cifra indicadora de compas de 4/4. Cuando pienso acerca del futuro, siento gran esperanza por un mundo mejor. Para el mundo en general, el panorama actual puede ser desalentador, sin propósito y cargado de incertidumbre. Siempre tengo como lema, que si uno está preparado, uno debe temer. Hay que prepararse para los cambios, para la vida, para la muerte, para lo inesperado. Siempre le digo a las personas, que se pregunten dónde estarán en 20 años. No lo sabremos hasta llegar allí, pero podemos construir nuestro futuro desde ahora. El futuro es el resultado de nuestro crecimiento como humanidad. Cada día es una oportunidad para construir un mundo más justo, amoroso y centrado en valores. Si lo que estoy haciendo hoy no me conduce a nada bueno en el futuro, es hora de detenerse, y cambiar el rumbo. Si, al contrario, es algo bueno, entonces sigamos avanzando con fe en cada paso y con determinación. Espero que disfruten de mi participación en la comunidad esta semana.
