I am pleased to share my trumpet performance of "Chasing Pavements," a song that blends genres such as Soul, Pop, and Blues, composed by Adele Adkins and Francis "Eg" White. It was inspired by a personal experience where she argued and broke up with her boyfriend, an older man, and thinking someone would follow her, she stopped to reflect that what she was doing was getting her nowhere. I really like the lyrics; they are very moving and speak about the uncertainty and hopelessness that can be felt when a love relationship fails. The song is in the key of C minor and has a moderate tempo. It has some slight meter changes from 4/4 to 2/4, and in my case, I play it in the key of F minor, although this is much more noticeable in the harmony than in the melody.

Tengo el agrado de compartir mi interpretación con la trompeta de «Chasing Pavements», una canción que mezcla géneros como el Soul, Pop, y el Blues, compuesta por Adele Adkins y Francis "Eg" White. Ella se inspiró en una experiencia personal donde discutió y rompió con su novio, un hombre mayor, y pensando ella que alguien le seguiría, se detuvo a meditar que lo que estaba haciendo no le llevaba a ninguna parte. La letra me gusta mucho, es muy conmovedora y habla sobre la incertidumbre y la desesperanza que se puede sentir cuando una relación amorosa fracasa. La canción está en la tonalidad de Do menor y tiene un tempo moderado. Tiene algunos leves cambios de métrica de 4/4 a 2/4 y en mi caso la interpreto en la tonalidad de F Menor, aunque esto se percibe mucho más en la armonía que en la melodía.Spanish | Español (click here)
En algunos momentos de nuestras vidas podemos sentirnos vulnerables, rotos y abrumados. Si has tenido la oportunidad de ver una pared derrumbarse, seguramente habrás notado las consecuencias del colapso. Existen diferentes causas entre las cuales podemos encontrar bases y columnas débiles, e incluso factores externos como un terremoto, o inundación que socava los cimientos de la vida. Afortunadamente, no somos objetos, sino sujetos de acción, y podemos fortalecer los fundamentos de nuestro mundo interior y exterior. En mi vida personal he logrado levantarme gracias a que he acudido a Dios por medio de la oración, escudriñar las escrituras, y el servir a los demás. Cuando uno está al servicio de sus semejantes, uno puede descubrir que sus problemas son insignificantes o quizás de menos importancia que los que padecen otros. La esperanza impulsa hacia adelante y permite que cada bloque sea restaurado y vuelva a levantarse. Que tengan una maravillosa semana.
