Hello friends of this hive @Worldmappin here I share my first publication for this space and I hope you like it.

Yesterday morning we went on a guided tour to the San Antonio de la Eminencia Castle located in Miramar, La Eminencia hill, Santa Inés Parish in Cumaná, Sucre State, Venezuela with my niece and mother-in-law since we were going up we felt the happiness of being in a fantastic monument.

The fortress is built of large limestone walls, where the military engineers joined each stone with a filling that they made with sandstone and fossiliferous limestone rock from the hill, cattle blood, lime, manure.

The guide explained to us that the structure is designed by a four-pointed star that were perfectly aligned by the four cardinal points (North, South, East and West) because the Spaniards were guided by the cardinal points.

From the top of the castle you can see a panoramic view of the city ranging from the urban bustle to the sea horizon.

In the center there was a small building where three rooms were united, but only the base remained because an earthquake destroyed the top of the castle.

In addition, on the roof we find different cannons where the largest and long-range called culebrinas were of the time and others were from ships found at sea and were donated to the castle.

There was also a warehouse called "polvorín" where the gunpowder was kept to be able to fight with the pirates of great powers such as the French, English and Dutch, on the other hand it has a cistern where they kept the fresh water and it was collected from the Manzanares river that lasted three months.

Leaving the roof we passed a bridge this was elevated, but as time went by and with the earthquakes it became a fixed bridge or footbridge.

We went down and found some rooms where the general and president of Venezuela José Antonio Páez was imprisoned in a dark and small cell where there were only some micro-windows.There are some objects donated to the castle such as paintings, closet, photos, bed, trunk, among others.

In another room there is a very small, dark and gloomy room called the room of oblivion where they put the prisoners and opened the doors when they were all dead and passed them food and water only once through a crack and forgot about them, hence its name.

Below the watchtowers or sentry boxes there is a lion's head called Leones de Castilla (Lions of Castile) as well as decoration and it has a great meaning of power and dominion of the Spanish over their colonies here in America.

This historic monument has been carefully restored because it has suffered damage from terrible earthquakes in past decades to offer visitors and residents an experience immersed in the colonial era. The Fortaleza de San Antonio de la Eminencia was declared a National Historic Monument on October 29, 1965.

Thank you for joining me here, until another opportunity and I hope to see you on another trip and for your valuable support. Thank you...
