Hello dear YAF community,
After a summer full of planning, dreaming, and hard work, we’re beyond excited to kick off the new season with something we’ve never done before – launching six Targi Młodej Sztuki (Young Art Fair) events at once, in five different cities!
Here’s the roadmap for the rest of 2025:
Wrocław – Sept 6–7
Kraków – Sept 27–28
Łódź – Oct 11–12
Lublin – Nov 15–16
Kraków (again!) – Nov 29–30
Poznań – Dec 20–21
What’s new?
This year we’re testing new venues and partnerships – some bold, some experimental, all exciting.
We’ve already designed all the posters; all that’s left is to add the Hive logo and distribute them across social media and in cities physically.
Kraków will host us twice, both times at Pałac Potockich – a prestigious venue of significant size and name. It’s also located right on Rynek Główny 20, a historic address swarmed by millions tourists year-round – and yes, we’re planning to capitalize on that!
In Wrocław, we’re coming back for the third time – same event format, new venue location. This time, we’re moving out of the city center toward a larger, expo-style space. It’s a fresh take, but without much walk-in traffic, so it’s a different kind of challenge.
Łódź returns to the same amazing venue as before – and our goal is to deliver the best version, just like we did last time!
Lublin joins us for the very first time! We’re setting up downtown in a modest but well-situated cultural center. Costs will stay accessible (which we believe matters as much as size), and we’re planning a side collab with a local design shop – adding more context and connection to the event.
Back to Kraków, round two: it’s a response to what we see as a growing hunger for art in the city of art – and we’re happy to meet it head-on.
And finally: Poznań! We’ll close the season strong in the circular Pawilon at Galeria Miejska Arsenał – a respected name in the local scene. It’s a place we’re already certain we’ll return to.
Behind the scenes
We’re about to make a major infrastructure investment – in custom metal shop screens. These will allow artists to display their work even in venues where walls are off-limits – giving more flexibility and freedom in presentation.
It’s a big (and physically intense!) upgrade, but one that’s totally worth it for the growing professionalism and accessibility of YAF.
We are gradually planning to introduce new opportunities for Hivians — to stand for HBD. This initiative will significantly transform the experience and motivation for artists to join and stay here.
Team News
We’re growing! After years of running things solo, our founder now has company: we’ve just hired our second full-time team member.
Meet Kinga, a talented photographer we first met at last year’s Wrocław fair (and who joined two editions!). She’s now helping build the future of YAF full-time – and we’re thrilled to have her energy, ideas, and eye on board - we are hoping that she start her journey on Hive soon!
