It was a hit or miss situation and I’d say we hit! Kuala Lumpur has been a really pleasant experience so far and the apartment is great. I mean, look at the view from the infinity pool:
Bei dieser Aktion auf gut Glück war das Glück ganz offensichtlich auf unserer Seite! Kuala Lumpur war bisher eine wirklich angenehme Erfahrung und das Apartment ist wirklich großartig. Ich mein, gönn dir mal den Ausblick vom Infinity Pool aus:
What adds to the quality of the stay, is that the hosting family (Noorizah and her son Syamil) are exceptionally kind and helpful! Needless to say the flat is neat - it has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, balcony, kitchen and this living room:
Was dem Aufenthalt noch mehr Qualität schenkt, ist dass die Gastfamilie (Noorizah und ihr Sohn Syamil) außerordentlich freundlich und hilfsbereit sind! Ganz ohne Frage ist die Wohnung prima - sie hat 2 Schlafzimmer, 2 Badezimmer, Balkon, Küche und dieses Wohnzimmer:

In this fairly new building they also have a gym (rooftop), a squash court, a sauna and a BBQ place. So, what do we do? Lots of sports, yes. :)
In diesem ziemlich neuen Gebäude gibt’s ein Fitnessstudio (am Dach), einen Squashcourt, eine Sauna und einen Grillbereich. Was machen wir also? Eine Menge Sport, richtig. :)
The pleasant thing about Kuala Lumpur is, that it’s even tidier and cleaner than the Vietnamese cities we’ve been to before. Plus it’s more quiet - barely anybody honks. Everybody seems to be quite chill and rather trustworthy. However we reside in a good and safe area of the city and I might be biased because of it.
Das Angenehme an Kuala Lumpur ist, dass es nochmal ordentlicher und sauberer ist, als die vietnamesischen Städte, in denen wir waren. Zudem ist es viel ruhiger - es wird kaum gehupt. Alle scheinen recht gemäßigt und eher vertrauenswürdig. Allerdings muss ich dazusagen, dass wir uns in einer guten Gegend befinden und das vermutlich Einfluss auf meine Wahrnehmung nimmt.
Meeting 'Old' Travel Acquaintances
My brother and me were in Paris in May 2017, where we desperately tried to take a selfie in front of the Eiffel Tower while he was on my shoulders. Two attentive young ladies noticed the struggle and came over to offer their help:
Mein Bruder und ich waren im Mai 2017 in Paris, wo wir verzweifelt versuchten, vor dem Eiffelturm ein Foto zu machen, während mein Bro auf meinen Schultern sitzt. Zwei aufmerksame junge Damen sahen unser Affentheater und boten ihre Hilfe an:

Naturally you start talking and figure where everyone’s from and guess where she lived: Kuala Lumpur. So we got in contact and she showed me and one of her interns around a bit yesterday. From China Town to a Hindu temple and fittingly an Indian food court afterwards.
Natürlich kommt man ins Gespräch und erfährt, wo ein jeder her ist. Ratet mal, woher sie war: Kuala Lumpur. Also hab’ ich hier Kontakt aufgenommen und sie hat mich und einen Praktikanten von der Arbeit gestern ein wenig herumgeführt. Von China Town zu einem Hindu Tempel und danach passender Weise zu einem indischen Lokal.

Afterwards we all went to a bar close by, smoked a shisha (water pipe) and chatted over a beer, which was a nice way to top off the day.
I’m happy with the new home and look forward to a relaxed month in this village of 1,6 million people. :)
Danach gingen wir noch in eine nahegelegene Bar, rauchten eine Shisha (Wasserpfeife) und unterhielten uns bei einem Bier, was ein feiner Ausklang des Tages war. Ich bin glücklich mit der neuen Heimat und freue mich auf ein entspanntes Monat in diesem 1,6-Millionen-Seelen-Dorf. :)
The Inside Travels
The main focus of the upcoming weeks is on studying, working and working out as much as possible whereas we take it easy on getting to know the city. The premises provide everything we need and we’ve got some local shops in the neighborhood which I like to support rather than going to a big supermarket.
Der Hauptfokus der kommenden Wochen liegt bei so viel lernen, arbeiten und trainieren wie möglich, wohingegen wir es it dem Kennenlernen der Stadt locker angehen. Der Gebäudekomplex bietet uns alles, was wir brauchen und wir haben kleine Shops in der Nachbarschaft, die ich viel lieber unterstütze, als zu einer großen Supermarktkette zu fahren.
Traveling really makes me learn a lot about myself - it’s a blessing (and a burden at the same time). You know how when you struggle, you get stronger? So, I’ve pretty much had the fight with the final enemy (myself) going on last week and I’ll make an effort to share some of it in the upcoming daily posts as well as continuing the series from back in Vietnam.
I truly believe that traveling, respectively getting to know the world, makes me a better version of myself.
Das Reisen lehrt mich wirklich viel über mich selbst - es ist ein Segen (und ein Fluch zu gleich). Du weißt doch, dass man durch Schwierigkeiten an Stärke gewinnt, richtig? Ich war die letzte Woche ziemlich im Kampf mit dem Endgegner (mir selbst) und ich werde mich bemühen, etwas davon in den kommenden täglichen Posts abzufassen, als auch die Serie von Vietnam fortzusetzen.
PS: Natürlich werde ich auch auf die Steemit Name-Challenge zurückkommen, bei der mich @isarmoewe nominiert hat. :)
