Hola needleworkers 😊 espero que este nuevo lunes los encuentre muy bien, me tome unos días de descanso, ya que vengo bastante ocupada con la vida y no me queda tanto tiempo para poder coser. Con septiembre el fin de año se ve bastante cerca, estoy trabajando, estudiando e intentando tener vida social, todo esto está siendo difícil pero solo necesito organización y constancia, así que estoy en plan de pequeños nuevos trabajos para otros y ver de avanzar algunas cosas que tengo olvidadas por ahí.
Hello needleworkers 😊 I hope this new Monday finds you all well. I'm taking a few days off, as I've been quite busy with life and don't have much time to sew. With September approaching, the end of the year seems pretty close. I'm working, studying, and trying to have a social life. All of this is proving difficult, but I just need organization and consistency. So, I'm working on new small projects for others and trying to make progress on some things I've been forgetting.
Esta vez tomé dos calzas que son bastantes similares, pero en diferentes talles, para los moldes usé uno que ya tenía, es una calza que hice muchas veces para mí, y el otro que hice es en base a una calza que ya tenía y debía quedar del mismo talle. La tela es una lycra frizada, que es para épocas un poco más frías y funcionan muy bien debajo de los jeans para los días más fríos.
This time I chose two pairs of leggings that are quite similar, but in different sizes. For the patterns, I used one I already had—it's a pair I've made many times for myself—and the other one I made was based on a pair of leggings I already had, and it had to be the same size. The fabric is fleece-like lycra, which is perfect for slightly colder weather and works great under jeans on colder days.

Comencé cortando ambas calzas con todas sus piezas, cada calza tiene 5 piezas en total, dos de puños, una de cintura y dos de piernas ya que vienen todas juntas en delantero y trasero, lo difícil de marcar estas telas es lo que no me gusta, la tiza no corre bien, tengo ganas de comprar unas lapiceras borrables que vienen en colores, pero la tienda las tiene agotadas por ahora.
I started by cutting both leggings with all their pieces, each leggings has 5 pieces in total, two cuffs, one waist and two legs since they all come together in front and back, the difficult thing about marking these fabrics is what I don't like, the chalk doesn't run well, I want to buy some erasable pens that come in colors, but the store has them sold out for now.
Para coser use mi máquina overlock ya que es una tela elástica, y la overlock es especial para esto, en mis próximas compras tengo que sumar una comprar de conos de hilo ya que por ahora estoy cosiendo con 3, pero una costura a 4 hilos es más resistente e igual de elástica para las prendas.
To sew I used my overlock machine since it is a stretchy fabric, and the overlock is special for this. In my next purchases I will have to add a purchase of thread cones since for now I am sewing with 3, but a 4-thread seam is more resistant and just as elastic for the garments.
La cintura no es recta, sino que desde los costados tiene dos cm hacia adentro, esto hace que la cintura sea anatómica y como se estira se ajusta bastante bien sin apretar, me gusta más hacerlo de esta forma que con un elástico ya que los elásticos pueden ser molestos y no siempre me quedan perfectos este tipo de cintura es bastante fácil de hacer, se cierran los costados, se dobla a la mitad y las partes en punta van a las costuras del centro.
The waist is not straight, but from the sides it has two cm inwards, this makes the waist anatomical and as it stretches it fits quite well without tightening, I prefer to do it this way than with an elastic since the elastics can be annoying and they don't always fit me perfectly. This type of waist is quite easy to make, the sides are closed, it is folded in half and the pointed parts go to the center seams.
Esto da en la prenda una especie de forma en v, pero que sigue la forma del cuerpo, me gusta usar calzas de cintura alta y me las pidieron de esta manera así que es bueno saber hacerlo.
This gives the garment a sort of V-shape, but it follows the shape of the body. I like to wear high-waisted leggings and they asked me to do them this way, so it's good to know how to do it.
Los puños si son rectangulares, se cosen al costado, luego se doblan por la mitad y se cosen a la prenda, como uso overlock no es un proceso difícil, solo acomodar las costuras para que coincidan bien.
If the cuffs are rectangular, they are sewn to the side, then folded in half and sewn to the garment. Since I use an overlock, it is not a difficult process, just arrange the seams so that they match well.
Estas calzas fueron muy fáciles de hacer porque tengo el proceso conocido, creo que lo más complicado siempre es tener el talle correspondiente, pero con ajustes esto fue posible.
These leggings were very easy to make because I know the process. I think the hardest part is always getting the right size, but with adjustments, this was possible.
Uno de mis objetivos futuros es poder hacer más prendas para otras personas así que voy a intentar animarme a hacer prendas en diferentes talles y publicarlas en internet, aunque también me dieron ganas de hacer bolsos y carteras, tengo mucho que practicar, pero eso será para otra ocasión.
One of my future goals is to be able to make more clothes for other people, so I'm going to try to get into making clothes in different sizes and posting them online. I've also been wanting to try making bags and purses. I still have a lot to practice, but that's for another occasion.
