Feliz lunes needleworkers 😊 otro lunes nos encuentra en esta hermosa comunidad, espero que vengan encaminados con sus proyectos, tengo un lista de cosas que quiero hacer, cada cierto tiempo tacho alguna cosita de esa lista pero está bastante lenta, entre en trabajo y la facultad no estoy con tanto tiempo pero como tuve un pequeño receso de una semana sin nada que hacer aproveche a avanzar con cosas, no fue un receso sino que me despidieron del trabajo, pero por suerte ya conseguí otro trabajo jajaja fue bastante rápido, soy una chica con suerte y con unos amigos dispuestos a ayudarme siempre jajaja, empecemos con el proyecto.
Happy Monday needleworkers 😊 another Monday finds us in this beautiful community, I hope you are on track with your projects, I have a list of things I want to do, every so often I cross something off that list but it's pretty slow, between work and college I don't have that much time but since I had a little break of a week with nothing to do I took advantage of it to move things forward, it wasn't a break but rather that I got fired from work, but luckily I already got another job hahaha it was pretty quick, I'm a lucky girl and have some friends always willing to help me hahaha, let's get started with the project.
El proyecto puff es uno de mis más largo y antiguos proyectos de costura, tuve que revisar mi registro en hive para saber cuándo fue la última vez que actualice, fue hace bastante tiempo, a fines de enero, 7 meses casi desde la última vez que hice algo con esto, la meta este año era que esté terminado para abril, pero ya es casi septiembre y el proyecto no avanzó nada, pero acá estamos para volver con un poco de costura y reciclaje, corte nuevos cuadrados y rectángulos.
The puff project is one of my longest and oldest sewing projects, I had to check my hive log to find out when was the last time I updated, it was quite a while ago, at the end of January, almost 7 months since the last time I did something with this, the goal this year was to have it finished by April, but it's almost September and the project hasn't advanced at all, but here we are back with a bit of sewing and recycling, cutting new squares and rectangles.
Esta vez ya no había tela de corazones, tampoco tela blanca, así que utilicé lo que tenía más a mano, lienzo, tela de vaqueros, otra tela elástica y retazos de la última camisa que renové, todo esto serviría para hacer la tapa, en mis recuerdos ya la había hecho, pero no la encontré.
This time there was no heart fabric, nor white fabric, so I used what I had on hand: canvas, denim, another stretchy fabric, and scraps from the last shirt I renovated. All of this would be used to make the cover. In my memory, I had already made it, but I couldn't find it.
Cosí entre si cuadrados para ensamblar la gran tapa, aproximadamente debe tener 40*40, es un cuadrado, así que fui uniendo todo hasta lograr hacer toda la superficie.
I sewed squares together to assemble the large lid, it should be approximately 40*40, it is a square, so I joined everything until I managed to cover the entire surface.
Lo iba midiendo con el resto mientras lo hacía, ya que la cara inferior y todos los laterales estaban unidos desde enero, cuando tuvo el tamaño suficiente ya lo podía unir, esta vez no le pase overlock y espero que no me arrepienta de eso en un futuro.
I was measuring it with the rest while I was doing it, since the bottom face and all the sides were joined since January, when it was large enough I could join it, this time I didn't overlock it and I hope I don't regret that in the future.
Empecé con los almohadones también, pero cometí errores jajaja el primero de todos me quedó super pequeño, me faltan unos 8 a 10 cm, no sé qué falle, pero es un experimento. Para este primer almohadón utilicé las muestras pintadas de la facultad que ya no tenían utilidad, y le añadí más tela para hacer las caras más grandes.
I started with the pillows too, but I made mistakes, haha. The first one ended up super small. I'm missing about 8 to 10 cm. I don't know what went wrong, but it's an experiment. For this first pillow, I used the painted samples from college that were no longer useful, and I added more fabric to make the faces bigger.
Para rellenar esto utilice una de mis múltiples bolsas de retazos, lo bueno es que tengo muchas y lo malo es que tengo muchas jajaja, tengo que ordenar bien mis telas, pero les juro que es un trabajo tan largo que no me da ganas nunca, pero voy a necesitar ordenar bien mis telas para hacer los próximos almohadones.
To fill this I used one of my many scrap bags, the good thing is that I have many and the bad thing is that I have many hahaha, I have to organize my fabrics well, but I swear it is such a long job that I never feel like it, but I am going to need to organize my fabrics well to make the next cushions.
Ya sé que deben ser más grandes, que de relleno voy a utilizar una bolsa intermedia y que será un trabajo de muchos almohadones, esto es modular para que se pueda lavar después, aunque debería coser un cierre para esto ya que necesito que se pueda abrir y cerrar fácilmente.
I know they need to be bigger, that I'm going to use an intermediate bag for filling, and that it will be a job involving many pillows. This is modular so it can be washed later, although I should sew a closure for this since I need it to be able to open and close easily.
No creo que después el puff soporte el peso de una persona, estoy pensando en que quizás necesite una especie de goma espuma un poco dura por dentro para que conserve la forma o algo así, pero son cosas que solucionaremos más adelante jajaja, hasta acá por hoy con este proyecto. Espero que vengan avanzando en sus metas anuales y sino aún hay tiempo para revisarlas y trabajar.
I don't think the beanbag will support a person's weight afterward. I'm thinking it might need some kind of slightly firm foam inside to help it retain its shape or something like that, but we'll figure those things out later, haha. That's it for today with this project. I hope you're making progress on your annual goals, and if not, there's still time to review them and work on them.
