Hola needleworkers 😊 espero que estén muy bien el día de hoy, se acerca el fin del cuatrimestre y son las últimas 3 semanas donde cada materia se define, en proyecto 2 estamos trabajando identidad institucional y para empezar investigamos un museo, elegimos una obra y nos pusimos a trabajar, el museo que elegimos es el moderno y terminamos trabajando una obra de Emilio Renart, para empezar, hicimos algunas texturas en lienzo.

Hello needleworkers 😊 I hope you are doing very well today, the end of the semester is approaching and these are the last 3 weeks where each subject is defined, in project 2 we are working on institutional identity and to start we researched a museum, we chose a work and we started to work, the museum we chose is the modern one and we ended up working on a work by Emilio Renart, to start, we made some textures on canvas.

Hay mucho que expresar y empecé pintando varias cosas, los colores son marrón, negro, un poco de gris y óxido jaja mucho de esto será usado y quizás otras cosas serán descartadas, pero confíen en el proceso. El cuadro es una especie de monstro y del mismo sale la estructura así es como trabajamos la idea 💡 es un ser reprimido que emerge a la superficie.

There's a lot to express, and I started by painting various things. The colors are brown, black, a bit of gray, and rust. Haha. Much of this will be used, and perhaps other things will be discarded, but trust the process. The painting is a kind of monster, and the structure emerges from it. That's how we worked with the idea. 💡 It's a repressed being that emerges to the surface.

Al pintar hice cosas extrañas que con plancha se fueron asentando, como lo son estas texturas, mis compañeras trabajaron otros recursos y materiales como el cuero, el denim y diferentes combinaciones entre sí.

When painting, I created strange things that settled with the iron, like these textures. My colleagues worked with other resources and materials like leather, denim, and different combinations of them.

Como el tiempo en este trabajo en muy poco menos de 8 semanas ya empezamos a trabajar en prendas y para empezar nos fuimos dividiendo cosas, en este caso a mí me tocó hacer la falda que se desprende de una idea que tuvo una de mis compañeras, yo solo sabía que quería hacer una falda.

Since my time at this job was just under 8 weeks, we started working on garments and to begin with, we divided things up. In this case, I was in charge of making the skirt, which stemmed from an idea one of my colleagues had. I only knew that I wanted to make a skirt.

Se trata de una falda bombe que tiene algunos recortes en gajos, que son directamente de la obra que vamos a trabajar. Comencé haciendo el patrón y marcando en él los recortes y bolsillos que iba a tener, tiene dos bolsillos circulares en el frente y por detrás algunas tablas, que se dieron por cuestiones de cintura.

This is a flared skirt with some cutouts, which are directly from the piece we'll be working on. I started by making the pattern and marking the cutouts and pockets on it. It has two circular pockets in the front and some pleats in the back, which were made for waistline reasons.

Empecé a cortar mis moldes y pasé todo esto a tela, para este trabajo hice una pequeña inversión en lienzo, voy a dejar de decirle gasto a cuando compro materiales para la facultad y decir inversiones jaja así suena mejor y realmente invierto en mí y en mi formación.

I started cutting my patterns and transferred all of this to fabric. For this project, I made a small investment in canvas. I'm going to stop calling it an expense when I buy materials for college and instead call it an investment, haha. It sounds better that way, and I'm really investing in myself and my education.

Primero cosí en todas las partes las pinzas, este modelo sigue las pinzas de la base así que las cosí tal cual y mucha plancha para que se asienten las costuras.

First I sewed the darts on all the parts. This model follows the darts on the base, so I sewed them as is and ironed a lot so the seams would set.

Después pase a trabajar el frente que tiene los círculos, a veces me cuesta entender la lógica del bolsillo, pero siempre pienso en que un bolsillo tiene 3 partes, la bolsa, la vista y el calado en tela base, marqué mi círculo en la vista, lo cosí por el rededor corte el exceso calando la forma, lo voltee hacia afuera y cosí la bolsa.

Then I moved on to working on the front which has the circles. Sometimes I have a hard time understanding the logic behind the pocket, but I always think that a pocket has 3 parts: the pouch, the facing, and the cutout on the base fabric. I marked my circle on the facing, sewed it around, cut off the excess, and cut out the shape. I turned it right side out and sewed the pouch.

Ahora tengo un hermoso bolsillo en círculo jajaja mucha plancha después quedo prolijo, lo bueno es que el lienzo se plancha muy bien.

Now I have a beautiful circular pocket, haha, a lot of ironing afterwards, it looks neat, the good thing is that the canvas irons very well.

Pasé a la parte lateral y cosí mis dos recortes agregados porque no es tela que saqué sino tela que añadí, para luego poder hacer la parte de atrás, que para esto hubo que coser pinzas y cerrar donde iría el cierre.

I moved on to the side and sewed my two added cutouts because it's not fabric I removed but fabric I added, so I could then make the back, which required sewing darts and closing where the zipper would go.

Use un pequeño truco que hace mucho no hacía y quedo casi que bien, me mande algunas macanas, pero hace mucho no cosía cierres. Ensamble frente y espalda cosiendo con máquina recta, en esta instancia no hace falta que sea perfecto, por ejemplo, no hice ruedo , pero no importaba tampoco ya que sin eso igual la falda se entendía.

I used a little trick I hadn't done in a long time, and it turned out pretty good. I've made a few mistakes, but it's been a long time since I've sewn zippers. I sewed the front and back together using a straight-edge sewing machine. In this case, it doesn't need to be perfect. For example, I didn't hem it, but it didn't matter either, since the skirt would still be understandable without it.

Lo siguiente fue plantear una cintura acordé a lo que había hecho jajaja ya que me quedó pequeña y era sábado a la noche, me quería dormir temprano, así que la hice encajar haciendo tablas en el posterior y la cosí con puntada a mano.

The next step was to create a waistline that matched what I had done, haha, since it was too small for me and it was Saturday night. I wanted to go to bed early, so I made it fit by making pleats in the back and sewed it with a hand stitch.

Por otro lado, mis compañeras trabajaron un saco y unas mangas, y aún nos queda trabajar la primera piel, que es una prenda de látex y para eso compramos látex líquido.

On the other hand, my colleagues worked on a jacket and some sleeves, and we still have to work on the first skin, which is a latex garment, and for that we bought liquid latex.

Hice algunas pruebas en pequeño y aún quedan más por hacer, la idea es que tengamos una especie de piel con venas, y que las texturas de látex sean más oscuras, las primeras las pinté con un tono rosa de rubor jajaja el mismo que uso para maquillarme.

I did some small tests and there are still more to do, the idea is to have a kind of skin with veins, and for the latex textures to be darker, the first ones I painted with a pink blush tone hahaha the same one I use for makeup.

Me dijeron que se veía como piel humana así que la idea fue descartada pero no del todo y tengo varias ideas para que esto suceda y suceda de una mejor forma, pero por ahora esto fue lo que presentamos, tenemos preentrega así que hay que avanzar con el proyecto, pero creo que vamos a representar muy bien el museo, ya lo veremos.

They told me it looked like human skin, so the idea was discarded, but not entirely. I have several ideas to make this happen, and to make it happen in a better way. But for now, this is what we presented. We have a pre-delivery, so we have to move forward with the project. But I think we're going to represent the museum very well. We'll see.
