When I was 19 or 20 years old, I started working as a presenter on a television program at the Telecentro in the Amancio municipality, Las Tunas. That's how we are, was a varied cultural magazine, directed by the teacher Roger Cuevas y Carbonell and the journalist Bárbara Borrás Aguilar.

My years in radio broadcasting helped me feel safe in front of the cameras, turning them into my accomplices and not an artifact that I imposed and intimidated.

In this program we showed the cultural and development activities that took place in Amancio, which at that time was the protagonist of a very rich effervescence, with events and artists from the region that raised the name of the place. Such as Sol y Arte sponsored by the Municipal Directorate of Culture, led by the beloved Eduardo Álvarez, La Cucalambeana, the Carnivals, Guaracha Compay Gallo Festival promoted by the troubadour Gaspar Esquivel Suárez and many more. In addition to the many circles of interest that existed at that time and that covered all manifestations of art.

I learned a lot during the time I served as presenter of Así Somos and although I look at this photo again, I feel that I have changed so much mentally and physically, that at times I stop recognizing myself. Amancio is not the same either. Unfortunately, the present is very different and what once shone with music, theater, dance, literature, painting, today is a Macondo abandoned to its fate.

Llega el jueves y con él, una nueva oportunidad para buscar en el cofre de nuestra memoria y compartir con ustedes un lindo recuerdo.

La foto que hoy les traigo, es de hace casi 20 años.

Cuando tenía 19 o 20 años, comencé a trabajar como presentadora en un programa de televisión en el Telecentro del municipio Amancio, Las Tunas. Así Somos, era una revista cultural variada, dirigida por el maestro Roger Cuevas y Carbonell y la periodista Bárbara Borrás Aguilar.

Mis años en la locución de radio me ayudó a sentirme segura delante de las cámaras, convertirlas en mis cómplices y no en un artefacto que imponía e intimidaba.

En este programa mostrábamos el que hacer cultural y de desarrollo que se vivía en Amancio, que en ese entonces protagonizaba una efervescencia muy rica, con eventos y artistas del terruño que ponían en alto el nombre del lugar. Tales como Sol y Arte auspiciado por la Dirección municipal de Cultura, a cargo del querido Eduardo Álvarez, La Cucalambeana, los Carnavales, Festival de Guaracha Compay Gallo impulsado por el trovador Gaspar Esquivel Suárez y muchos más. Además de los tantos círculos de interés que existían en aquel entonces y que abarcaban todas las manifestaciones del arte.

Aprendí mucho durante el tiempo que fungí como presentadora de Así somos y aunque vuelvo a mirar esta foto, siento que he cambiado tanto mental y físicamente, que a ratos dejo de reconocerme.

Amancio tampoco es el mismo. Lastimosamente, el presente es muy distinto y lo que una vez brilló con música, teatro, baile, literatura, pintura, hoy es un Macondo abandonado a su suerte.
