Getting married at least in Cuba on a Tuesday, carries the saying "Tuesday, don't get married, don't get on board, don't stay away from your family."It's an omen that comes from my great-great-grandmother as far as I know. But it turns out that according to Latin mythology, there is or existed a God called Tuesday who was a war God who was surpassed only by Zeus.
The Romans were extremely superstitious, on Tuesdays they did not get married or close any business, in fact the marriage was not for love but to maintain ties of economic interests, it was literally a business, so if they did it on a Tuesday they were lucky that everything went wrong.
Grandma tells me that before in her time no one was allowed to get married on a Tuesday and if someone did it out of disobedience, their marriage would become a chaos, it was impossible to live in peace, they would go to blows or the husband would become a drunk and bohemian. The economy was bad and they became sterile, they were hopelessly unhappy.
Cuba does not have much mythology, rather the culture is Yoruba or Christianity however the saying runs through its streets and if you do not get strong and get married on a Tuesday the curse of Tuesday falls on you. Coincidence or your mind is conditioned to superstition and if Tuesday comes to you, it comes to you.
The legend of Tuesday who is a God of war of Roman mythology, was that he adopted the myths of the Greek, since Ares who was the Greek god of war was bloodthirsty and violent and instead Tuesday was wise at all times.
About the saying, it is a Spanish saying that came to stay thanks to Greek mythology and more if it falls on Tuesday the 13th, this day is better not to marry or make important decisions.
Nowadays, no one pays attention to the saying but many say it in the form of a joke and remembering the tradition of grandparents.
Just in case, I warn my children and they to do it with their children and their children's children.
