Hello bees! What's up with everyone? It's been decades since my last participation in DIY works, I wouldn't say I've missed the good old days because I know that whatever had happened to stopped my progress happened for a reason. I won't look back with any regrets but grateful for every progress and journey so far. Today I awoken the DIY recycling spirit in me again. For my first start, I did something with my old jean. I had that jean hanging somewhere in the corridor of my house just looking at me to be utilized, at first I wanted to discard it since it was no longer useful at the time but something kept telling me not to and just leave it there that it might serve a purpose one day, and I guess today is that day. Putting and recycling my old jean into something useful and handy. I thought of a little home purse for my savings especially tiny accessories and belongings of mine that I usually easily misplace. Another thought that came to me was a small cross bag for when I want to go somewhere like the market and I don't intend to carry any big bag or just a purse. After considering the two bag ideas I had, I went ahead to do the later. I wanted to quickly finish the whole process in less than an hour, but sadly the loosening process of my old jean took quite some time. You know I have to detach every part and pieces of the old jean to be able to cut and carve out something new from it. Let's see what I am talking about down below ___ ___ ___ # Materials Used * Old jean * Scissors * Razor blade * Thread * Pins * Chalk * Measuring tape * sewing machine ___ ___ ## From Start To Finish (Steps)
In this first image, I already loosen part of the old jean, the waistband was already off, I loosen the pocket region too and then spread out the jean to take measurements and determine which side I would start my cutting ![1001205741.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/zanoz/23xVCzbeqcx6kLqH6Vsa6JN8ejFTMmmYw1QgoRZfDKqk18Cs3eYS42ns1zeCFcAgQSveL.jpg) Here I had joined both sides of the bags to the base part I cut out, after which I ironed the material to straighten it out since it was rumpled ![1001205739.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/zanoz/23w2gkMPjpzg45Aj77NQfyzBgtJtpXPnaXcY91PCkkHjZtUQbKkeLVW6GTgCG1ndWgoK6.jpg) I did side seaming for both sides of the bag then measured the handle from the waistband I took out earlier from the old jean and attached to the bag ![1001206337.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/zanoz/23vi21NoRn9kFz8Ui4LaDvE6jZdbCQtqV9ua25QZvfnkpwR7uNPEyzMf25XsACneBAQYD.jpg)
After loosening and spreading the old jean, I measured and cut out the parts and portions I needed, using the right measurements both in width and length. I measured for both sides of the bag and then for the bottom part too ![1001205740.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/zanoz/23vhuiSbCogveEngRR6HXdRxb4Daq3pUB9zDMei4bJijRV67gAnasjyF7kzwz9j44fh5j.jpg) After ironing and measuring a smaller piece of the jean for side bag or pocket, I attached it to the front part of the bag and sewed ![1001205738.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/zanoz/23xKpFRZpF9B3bVRjbAEdyJw714fbk9ib3wMztzwXQZ8jcYpyB1ZLZLxBX1gn7GKtwGtV.jpg) This hand gave me quite a headache, I had a real time struggle with the bag handle, I don't know why it was that difficult to attach it, it was acting up and giving me troubles ![1001206338.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/zanoz/23wqkWh6S87Ks4A5VZpHhwJVcpyCvFVHZQmmRsxGaZebQGCnh3o5aYrw1UNwea9HZG5DS.jpg)
___ But thankfully, after all the struggles, I was able to finish my work by achieving a neat small cross bag recycled from my old jean. Now I know too well not to discard my old clothings, instead keep them and recycle into something more useful. See you all next time, thank you for your time! ___ ___
