Well, maybe I could go for drawing Verdarox and other dragon's evolved forms too to finally be able to call my collections... but I guess that thought's for another time. It’s great to be able to show a bit more about how I start my paintings, though I’d need to get a bit more used to it. I felt a bit uncomfortable since I’m so accustomed to using keyboard shortcuts in Photoshop, so I made the initial sketch there and then went back to Photoshop to refine it. I was going to use the Pen Tool to create perfect lineart, but it was the same process I use to fill each part of the character, so I thought, “Wait, this is double work!” and just filled everything right away. I tried to apply all the detailing of the painting in grayscale—and I succeeded. The result looked perfect, and the grayscale work alone could have been considered a great finished... As I mentioned before, this would be a humanized, feminine version of the dragon (Emberox), so I focused on giving it an appearance and proportions more in line with my style, keeping features such as the horns on the top of its head, the elongated ears, etc. To begin the coloring process, I looked for some peachy colors to build a base for the skin that would look quite natural and harmonious with the features of the original dragon. Then, for the eyes, I used sky blue and electric blue tones to create a large, tender, and fully expressive look...
