**We used to have this tiny blue laptop back in 2016. It belonged to my mum actually**, but she occasionally left it at home for my siblings and me to use if we were bored. One day we explored it and found this animated movie on it, Storks. Immediately, we grabbed some snacks from the fridge, made ourselves comfortable, and pressed play. The movie lasted for about two hours, but it felt like 2 years. ![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmS77XpmZ4AZQigp43zfRrYsjGhXy9W8MsBytzJcUp1G2y/free_delivery.png) **Designed [Image](https://www.google.com/imgres?q=storks&imgurl=https%3A%2F%2Few.com%2Fthmb%2FOL1iWQ-y4suHKSIOebIxna0Ujho%3D%2F1500x0%2Ffilters%3Ano_upscale()%3Amax_bytes(150000)%3Astrip_icc()%2Fstorks-12720e2c1df14d49a8e4a98a9df3e5d2.jpg&imgrefurl=https%3A%2F%2Few.com%2Fgallery%2Fstorks-cast-characters%2F%3Fsrsltid%3DAfmBOoqMXF_tKoc_F6CxhwHGQt2bfEWgqPFrqCGhEPkaIaKx-P_yvwmy&docid=WVKZGhPFcZijFM&tbnid=ZcQvqbuLKnDalM&vet=12ahUKEwiene_TqauPAxUDQEEAHQyeAtgQM3oECCkQAA..i&w=1000&h=750&hcb=2&ved=2ahUKEwiene_TqauPAxUDQEEAHQyeAtgQM3oECCkQAA) using Canva** In those two hours, our emotions took a ride on the most chaotic yet exhilarating rollercoaster. One minute we were smiling from ear to ear, and the next, we were bawling our eyes out. Nothing prepared us for that masterpiece, but it was well worth the time spent. Now, almost a decade later, I still think back to that movie and the experience of watching it. Permit me to grab you along with me as I go down memory lane. --- ## About the Movie The movie starts out with the point of view of the young preschool boy, begging his parents for a younger brother. His parents are very important and busy people, who didn’t always have time for him. That’s why he wanted a little brother, who he could play with. ![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmRn5jM8W2smkhMfek5B2LKbAed139SFbVRizLEeEfvThN/storkss1.png) The parents didn’t want another child, though. So fed up of not getting any favorable response, he digs through some old boxes in the attic and comes across an old pamphlet advertising a baby delivery company run by storks. Apparently all he had to do was write a letter describing the kind of baby he wanted, and they would make and deliver the baby. Boy didn’t know the company had quit delivering babies and started delivering other items. He wrote the letter anyway and mailed it. When the letter finally gets to the company, which is located in the sky by the way, it gets to the desk of the new employee—Orphan Tulip. ![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmRJoXVyWUbSXsnW4j8FhC85LwvEdcvc6CmDhP2LCS7rA9/storkss3.png) Tulip is the only human being that works in the factory. She was one of the babies made in the factory, but during her delivery, something went wrong, and her assigned stork lost her GPS location so he couldn’t track her family’s location. Ever since, she stayed back in the company and grew up with the birds. Tulip was somewhat of a trouble maker, so the birds stashed her in the baby-making factory, knowing they had shut it down so she wouldn’t have any job to do. Or so they thought. Tulip, bored out of her mind in the factory, finally lit up as she received the letter. She then went to the baby-making machine, turned it on, and put in the letter, and the machine started making the baby. ![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmdYUdPQDazfCutH1Jne5jmTdAZyJ8qaXxdmGPnV2jawLh/storks5.png) That got the stork in charge of her into trouble, so he and Tulip had to figure out a way to deliver that baby without the boss or any other stork knowing. The rest of the movie covers the adversities they face in the journey of delivering the baby. --- Let’s meet some of the characters. ## Orphan Tulip Like I said earlier, Tulip is one of the babies they used to make. She is 16 years old, and she is such a sweetheart. Her awkward and chaotic nature is lovable; it kind of reminds me of Susan from Desperate Housewives. ![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmZ48ePLPsmmSv1rJ2NmQjdZtqvqrBJmMC72wUhcfRioWu/storks4.png) When I say chaotic, it’s in no way an understatement. Everything this girl touches somehow either comes to life or breaks down 😅. At 16 years, she was causing troubles at the firm, so the boss gave her to one of the storks to deal with—Junior. Junior wasn’t a fan of Tulip, so he put her down in the baby-making factory, thinking, since it was shut down, no disastrous thing could come from it. Boy, was he wrong. ## Junior ![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmP6Uq44ncAwY4TMpMu6rSSey2VCrVxnpQhwfVBt1Bn4jY/storks3.png) Junior was the star employee; everyone anticipated that he would be the person to take over the boss’s position when he retired. The boss had actually called him for a meeting where he coached him on some senior-level tasks. Junior was happy and took that as a green light that he would get the position. ![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmZoHKVedHZiAtKXujacodubhhamK1GcWNT81ywRWB5CGc/storkss4.png) As the movie progresses, we see Junior lose his cool when trying to comfort during the long journey of delivery. He swears he’s not a baby kind of guy, but during several moments, he smiles fondly down at baby and and forms a connection with her. ## The Wolf Pack Gags ![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmcFDLNa8c3dWi6wHGq1PPoitVywn3EubprkfbftsoazAU/storkss5.png) The wolves show up later down the line, when Junior and Tulip stumble upon them deep in the cold snowy forest. The wolves kidnap Junior and Tulip and plan to cook and eat them. But they get sidetracked when the baby lets out cute giggles. They find the baby too cute to be eaten, so they plan to keep the baby instead and raise her as one of their own. Junior and Tulip eventually escape with the baby. Hilarious moments play out when the wolves run after Tulip and Junior. They transform into submarines, boats and bridges, all so they can get their cute baby back. ## The Boy and his family ![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmQoRw3XjrenQ2vqQ4VKGmPix9Yzc8x8tr3eXZuesm3Dam/storkss.png) While all this is happening the boy and his parents are getting ready to receive their little addition to the family. They decide to build a landing pad on top of the roof so that it’s easy for the stork to recognize the house from high up in the sky. During the construction of the pad, the boy gets to bond with his parents, and the parents realize just how much time has flown by while they neglected their son. All in all, the movie left me gasping for air in laughter so many times. It’s a 10 out of 10, and I definitely recommend it.
