The story begins with Lord Cyan Vert, in a battlefield where he got betrayed by his own warriors. He is injured and there's no longer magic left in him. Cyan is curious about who's behind this conspiracy and the first person he wanted to inform about it was his brother Echelle who is the family's honour.
It was told to Cyan by his father the emperor that Cyan has to do everything for his brother and live beside him as his shadow. Cyan dedicated his whole life for his brother and in the end he came to know that his brother is the one who told the others to eliminate Cyan. Echelle revealed himself and he started accusing Cyan for murders and crimes and for that reason he is going to take Cyan's life.
Cyan felt betrayed after working for his brother like a dog for 20 years and now he is blaming him. Cyan tried to use his last bit of power to eliminate Echelle but he failed as others were protecting him with magic and Cyan died alone. But Cyan opened his eyes suddenly and saw his maid infront of him who hasn't changed a bit but then he realized he travelled back in time which is 20 years ago. Cyan has gotten the opportunity to rewrite his faith but will he be able to change the future?
Cyan is now a seven years old kid with the mind of 27 years old guy. The power and strength he had before does not exist anymore in this timeline because he has to earn it again from the beginning. Cyan does not want his life to end again like it did before so he is trying to give his best even if his recent body is not cooperative.
He's now a normal kid who previously had no interest in swordsmanship but now he has to take revenge and not live under someone else's shadow, Cyan is going to make his own army and build a different kind of empire. The place he had given to his brother now he is going to take it all before Echelle does.
I like this type of male protagonist who does not want to be a hero but do the right thing for them. If they always have kindness then where's the fun? In every story we see the hero lead is being nice and sacrificing but no Cyan is very different than other protagonist. If someone has done something bad to him, he will do the same it's like tit for tat. Which is why I like this manhwa very much.
I like to see when the villain characters getting what they deserve such as Cyan's brother Kranz he was really cruel to Cyan because Cyan is an illegitimate child. In the past life he bullied Cyan but now it's Cyan's turn to make his life miserable. I loves the scene where Cyan beat him up badly so that he had to be sent to the infirmary. Kranz is a spoiled brat and glad that the emperor didn't not meddle in the sparring match. In the past life Cyan was a weakling so anyone could dominate him easily and now he is going to be a strong assassin without being someone's shadow.
I hope that no one can find out his truth that he is from the future. I just want to see him succeed in taking revenge. At least he has a older sister who truly cares for him. She didn't have a good future so it is the responsibility for Cyan to protect her from what is coming in the future. I am sure Cyan is going to be brutal and take everything down for his loved ones. He is a protagonist of this story but I won't mind seeing him destroying everything and becoming an antagonist. Because they did him dirty and he has the right to take revenge.
The story is interesting because you keep seeing battles which makes you excited. I truly love the actions and the art is amazing. It doesn't feel like I am reading a manhwa, it always felt like I am watching animation as it played in my mind. The dialogues are on point and emotions flows through the face it's expressive and beautiful. There are demons and magical powers which looks super cool.
My personal opinion on this manhwa is that it's a must read. If you don't read it yet then you're missing out a lot. There's lots of actions and political drama you would definitely enjoy it. You will also the taste of revenge. It's really amazing and deserves to be on the reading list. Currently there is 94 chapter and it's on-going.
