Greetings Dear Art Appreciators;
. Hope you are well and enjoying a fine day wherever you are.
This Watercolour.... 'Tulips, Pears, and the Bleu' showcases together subjects often seen in Bleujay's paintings..tulips and pears. The opportunity to pair them with bleu patterned ware presented itself and the ideas started rolling in.
First, set up a still life in the studio....take photographs. Select colours...the bleu and the green were a given....however the colour of the tulips was not so straight forward. It came down to deciding which colour was most likely to complement the bleu and the green.
Secondly, drawing a composition from the still life and then transfering that drawing to Watercolour paper before any painting can begin, Many times I do appreciate being able to work a study/ or small part of the painting separately in order to determine colours, medium, etc.
