
Over the weekend my general helper came out to visit and I sent her home with a white pumpkin. This is how she carried it off to Boston.
On Wednesday I was up at 5AM and got my post up and the kitchen cleaned up. Then I started moving plants to the dining room table from the living room windows.

Some of them were in need of tidying up so I got sidetracked doing that. I forgot to finish prepping the window in the upper left photo because of this. I next quickly rewashed all the storm windows as they had been sitting out for weeks.
I had just finished getting ready when I got a call my window guy wanted to come an hour early.

My #1 intern had just arrived to mow up the worst of the leaves in the backyard. So we went up to the barn and got the riding mower and I was gassing it up when my window guy arrived. My #1 intern hopped on and started doing circles collecting leaves.
My window guy and I got the front porch door apart, again, and took the storm door window into the office door. That one didn’t want to go in either. It looks like either the doors or windows or both are coming off square rectangles and things don’t fit as neatly as in the past.
Then we got the front door back together with the storm window washed, cleaned up the mess and moved into the bedroom to get those 2 big windows done first. Then we started on the living room windows, getting the 2 big ones done, then the 4 medium ones.

My #1 intern finished the mowing and left around 2PM, I think. What a relief to have the leaves up before the rain.

We left the mess in the living room and moved to the office for the last 20 minutes.
The storm door window was clean already so we got the outside trim washed down and then I washed the 2 small door windows on the outside and we were out of time (and energy).
I didn’t get anything else done the rest of the day. I finally lit both fires and pulled shades at 6PM and went to bed at 7:30PM.
On Thursday it’s to rain off and on so it will be an inside day. I need to fold the laundry and put it away so I will have room for the linens I have to iron. I need to clean up the kitchen so I will have a place to wash up knicknacks from the office. I have to put the living room back together after windows.
And when my helper friend arrives at noon, we are going to finish the office spring cleaning. He also has errands to run.
Another long busy day….
