Apem cake is one of the foods that I often ate when I was little. My grandmother often made me apem cake, especially steamed apem. By the way, besides steamed apem, there is also fried apem cake. This time I made steamed apem for the first time. Here is the recipe!
___
**How to make steamed Apem**
___
- **The Ingredients**
•300grams glutinous rice flour
•350ml water
•10 tablespoons sugar
•1 spoon of instant yeast (usually used to make cake dough rise)
•Food coloring
•Pandan leaves (optional)
•2 tablespoons cooking oil
___

___
- **Step by step**
Boil the sugar with water until it boils (if you have pandan leaves, add them), then set aside until warm.

___
Mix the flour and yeast in a container, then pour in the sugar water little by little and stir well.

___

___
Add cooking oil and stir well

___
If you want to make apem with different colors, then separate it in another container. After that, add food coloring and stir well.

___
Cover the dough with a clean cloth. Let it rest for 2 hours.

___
After two hours, steam the cake mold for five minutes before pouring the apem mixture. This is so that the apem does not stick to the mold. Steam for about thirty minutes.

___
Once cooked, cool it first, then remove the apem from the mold.

___
Well, this is my first attempt at making steamed apem, and it was a success. I'm sure my grandmother would be proud of me if she were still alive. Hopefully this recipe is useful for friends who want to try making steamed apem. Happy recook!
