Two Branded Swift Butterflies Mating in the Bush

In the midst of hot temperatures, a pair of branded swift butterflies (Pelopidas) are doing copulation in the bush. When they are mating, they will find it difficult to fly far because their genitals are intertwined with one another. Just like matings that are common in the Hesperiidae family, skippers also carry out copulation by turning their backs to one another. Also like other insects, mostly the female skipper is slightly larger than the female.
