Here is a Chinese mantis I found right in the middle of downtown Chicago.
This gal was huge and very tame.
I noticed it outside a Chipotle in a dangerous area to get stepped on right by the entrance.
I had to pick it up and relocate it to a safe area with plans for it to hide in.
When I put my hand down it crawled right up my arm. Usually when I catch these guys they try and bite me.
This one looked like it might have tried flying somewhere then it got blown into a spider web as you can see some of the web left on its legs.
Fortunately there was a small flower bed park nearby and it was a perfect place to relocate this gal.
I hope it can snipe some stink bugs and flies from in here.
It went right into action perching in wait next to a flower for an insect to land.
Lets hope it stays safe here and can maybe lay an egg in time for fall.
That's all for now, I'll probably check this area again to see if it stuck around for another day.
