The alternator is a component in our cars that does not necessarily cause frequent problems, but when it does, it can cause endless inconveniences and even leave you stranded on the road. Last Saturday, I had problems with my alternator, which had deteriorated, presumably due to wear and tear. I later realized that it had practically never been removed from its place, let alone repaired. Thanks to the good condition of the battery, I was able to get home and even return to the repair shop a couple of days later to have the alternator removed and sent for inspection.
Normally, when an alternator fails, it is due to wear and tear on the brushes, which only need to be replaced for the alternator to be operational again. However, this was not the case for me, as in addition to the brushes, which were completely worn out, I also had problems with other parts of the alternator to the point that I considered buying a brand new one, which I did not want to do due to the high cost involved.
So, after a whole day with the electrician, who had a lot of difficulty making the repair and experiencing some tense moments, I was able to get through it successfully, but it wasn't easy.
