Happy Monday, Hive Open Mic family! I greet you in week 285 to accompany you with my music and also to enjoy the contributions of the countless talents that make up this community. This week's theme is “Cat Songs,” an interesting and novel topic.
I have never considered myself a cat person, whereas I’m very fond of dogs. However, I’m drawn to certain aspects of cats' personalities, if I may say so. Cats are independent animals that like their personal space, and most are not very affectionate or used to being touched a lot, but as with everything in life, there are exceptions. If I dared to have a cat, I would do so because I believe they do not require much attention beyond preventive medical care and a balanced diet.
On this topic, today I want to share with you a cover of the song Limón y Sal (lemon and Salt), by Mexican singer Julieta Venegas, from the album of the same name, released in 2006. Some time ago, there was a rumor on social media that this song was inspired by a cat, in this case, we understand that it was Julieta's cat and her relationship with this pet. In a recent interview, she denied that this was the inspiration, but said she found it curious and interesting that this kind of myth had spread and gone viral in popular culture. If we analyze the lyrics of the song, we see that it could fit perfectly, and perhaps that is why people associated its content with a dedication to a cat. I hope you like my presentation.
¡Feliz lunes, familia de Hive Open Mic! Les saludo en la semana 285 para acompañarlos con mi música y también para disfrutar de las participaciones de los innumerables talentos que hacen vida en esta comunidad. La temática de esta semana es “Canciones de Gatos”, un tópico interesante y novedoso.
Nunca me he considerado una persona apegada a los gatos mientras que, si soy apegada a los perros, sin embargo, me llama la atención algunos aspectos de la personalidad de los gatos, si se puede decir así. Los felinos son animales independientes a los que les gusta su espacio personal y la mayoría no son tan cariñosos y acostumbrados a que los estén tocando mucho, pero como todo en la vida hay casos de casos. Si me atreviera a tener un gato lo haría porque considero que no ameritan tanta atención más allá de los cuidados médicos preventivos y una alimentación balanceada.
A propósito de esta temática hoy les quiero compartir un cover de la canción Limón y Sal, de la cantante de mexicana Julieta Venegas, perteneciente al álbum homónimo, publicado en 2006. Hace un tiempo corrió un rumor en las redes sociales de que esta canción había sido inspirada en un gato, en este caso entendemos que en el gato de Julieta y en su relación con esta mascota. Últimamente en una entrevista ella negó que la inspiración haya sido esa pero que le parecía curioso e interesante que en la cultura popular se haya esparcido y viralizado esta especie de mito. Si analizamos la letra de la canción vemos que podría cuadrar perfectamente y quizás es por eso que las personas relacionaron su contenido con una dedicatoria a un gato.
