A week ago we went to Thiago Jaziel’s first birthday. Thiago is the youngest son of my friend Maria, she is the mother of one of Andres’ teammates from the team where he has been playing for five years, so we have several years of being baseball moms who accompany their children in sports. From the baseball team she only made two invitations, to my friend Desireé and me, although we don’t have small children we went with our children to Thiago’s party, because we were aware of all the preparations for the celebration and we didn’t want to miss it.

>Hace una semana nos fuimos al primer añito de Thiago Jaziel. Thiago es el hijo menor de mi amiga María, ella es la mamá de un compañero de Andrés del equipo donde juega desde hace cinco años, así que tenemos varios años siendo mamás beisboleras que acompañan a sus hijos en el deporte. Del equipo del béisbol solo hizo dos invitaciones, a mí amiga Desireé y a mi, que aunque no tenemos niños pequeños nos fuimos con nuestros hijos para la fiesta de Thiago, pues estábamos al tanto de todos los preparativos para la celebración y no teníamos ganas de faltar.
It had been years since I had attended a party as big as this one, everything was very well organized and the decoration was beautiful, it was the least I expected from my friend because since Thiago was born she has sent him to do a photo shoot with a child theme every month and she had months talking about the preparations and what she wanted for the party when he turned one year old.
When we arrived it was still early, although it was already 5 o’clock in the afternoon and the card said from 4 o’clock, the thing is that only the closest relatives had arrived, we sat at a table away from the center because we do not have small children who were going to climb on the inflatables or participate in the games. At one point we stopped to take pictures and take others with the birthday boy that the photographer took with each of the invited families.
>Tenía años que no asistía a una fiesta tan grande como esta, todo estaba muy bien organizado y la decoración era hermosa, era lo menos que esperaba de mi amiga pues desde que nació Thiago ella le ha mandado a hacer una sesión fotográfica con un tema infantil en cada mes y tenía meses hablando de los preparativos y de lo que quería para la fiesta cuando cumpliera el año.
>Cuando llegamos todavía era temprano, aunque ya eran las 5 de la tarde y la tarjeta decía que a partir de las 4, el caso es que solo habían llegado los familiares más cercanos, nosotros nos sentamos en una mesa alejada del centro pues no tenemos niños pequeños que fueran a subirse en los inflables o a participar en los juegos. En un momento nos paramos para tomar las fotografías y hacernos otras con el cumpleañero que tomó el fotógrafo con cada una de las familias invitadas.
The clown was in charge of the animation, the dance games and costumes that amused all the attendees, even the bar competition between men and women, in that competition our children did participate 🤭 as well as in the piñata that although they did not hit it with the stick because that was only done by the little kids, the rest of the attendees big and small were there very close waiting for the candies to fall to the ground to grab something. I wanted to grab at least one lollipop and by chance one and two candies fell at my feet.
>El payaso estuvo a cargo de la animación, los juegos de baile y disfraces que divirtieron a todos los asistentes, hasta competencia de barras entre los hombres y las mujeres, en esa competencia si participaron nuestros niños 🤭 al igual que en la piñata que aunque no le dieron con el palo pues eso solo lo hicieron los niños pequeños, el resto de los asistentes grandes y pequeños estábamos ahí muy cerca esperando que las golosinas cayeran al suelo para agarrar algo. Yo quería agarrar al menos una chupeta y casualidad a mis pies cayó una y dos caramelos.
We were not able to stay for the happy birthday party because it was already 10:30 at night and we were picked up, but we had a great time, we ate all the snacks possible and drank soft drinks, the boys ate cotufas and hot dogs, but the most important thing is that we accompanied Thiago on his first birthday and our friend who very kindly invited us knowing that we do not have small children and that with so much effort she celebrated the first year of her little son.

>No pudimos quedarnos para la hora de cantar el cumpleaños feliz pues ya eran las 10:30 de la noche y nos fueron a buscar, pero la pasamos genial, comimos todos los pasapalos posibles y bebimos refrescos, los muchachos comieron cotufas y perros calientes, pero lo más importante es que acompañamos a Thiago en su primer cumpleaños y a nuestra amiga que muy amable nos invitó sabiendo que no tenemos niños pequeños y que con tanto esfuerzo celebró el primer año de su pequeño hijo.
