Hello friends and Hivians. Hope all is well. Today is the first day back from vacation. What a great time I had! For this post, I share a get together, all of my siblings had together this past Sunday.
This is where I stayed during my vacation in Massachusetts. Its also the place we hung out all day and night on Sunday. Not a rental place,this log cabin is my brother Tom's home. Its located in the country side in Massachusetts near the Rhode Island Border.
The day started with a 3 mile walk with my sister Kathy which I will share another time. Once we got back, breakfast was waiting on us along with my other sister Lisa, my brother Tom, his wife Peggy and thier daughter Allison. A simple breakfast that included pancakes, fruit, and Canadian bacon. Scones and muffins were also available but I didn't have any as I had my share of sweets the night before having a cannoli.
After breakfast the six of us set up the outside area in preparation for a little party. A canopy area was set up for drinks, table for the food and a few speakers for music entertainment. Though we ended up eating inside in the end. The pool was ready for use but only one person ended up going swimming. To finish up we set up some lawn chairs and brought out some games for some serious family competition. Everyone else that we expected showed up around 1:00 p.m.
Once everyone else arrived we dug in. My brother smoked some pulled pork, mac & cheese and burnt ends. Also on the meat menu was different types of chicken. Grilled, Adobo snd the third I forgot already. For sides there was potato salad, baked beans, chips, coleslaw, fruit, sweet corn and corn bread. For desserts a few different cakes and cookies. Drinks there were many different types sodas, wine coolers (I think) and beer.
Above picture is of all of us in attendance. It was great time and some of us haven't seen each other for a very long time. Some family were meeting for the first time. I haven't met my nephew Dillion, my niece Allison and my Brother Joe's wife Carol. There were 3 of my nieces that weren't in attendance. However, Carol face timed two of them and I got to meet them that way. That was pretty cool, technology being used for good purposes.
After eating and some chit chat the games began! We started playing corn hole first. Above is my brother Joe and his son playing. Dillion was pretty good as he won his first three games against my sister Kathy and brother Tom. I just watched and licked my chops. Well my time came and played the champ, Dillion. A good match but when it was all said and done thier was a new champ 🏆 I defended it twice against my sister Kathy and my sister-in-law Peggy.
Next up was some connect four. Both of my sisters failed and both of my nieces failed against Dillion. There were some other match ups as well that provided some good laughter. The match up above was between Helena and Dillion. These two were scary, they were playing some next level shit. They stopped playing with like 7 moves to go when they both knew Dillion won. Damn near used every chip. I didn't play, you know I was already the Corn Hole champ I can't be expected to win everything, haha. I'm sure I would have failed against Dillion or Helena.
Well after games and yes they went on for a long time. We all gathered at the fire pit when it got darker. No kiddo fire pit, this one was burning full size wooden pallets. Before nights end it burned 7 pallets and countless logs.
Much of the chatter was about times in the past. Us siblings talked a lot about things we did and things about our father. This night was the day before the anniversary of our father death. We all agreed our father would be proud were all together but would probably say it's about time! You see we havent been complete like this in the picture above in 36 years! We all made a pact to not ever let this happen again.

Well we took a break from the fire and let off some fireworks. The video above was the last fire work we set off. I find it hillarious as the rest did as well. We didnt try to make it special or anything. Just funny it was set off with the flag pole as the back drop and that Free Bird was playing in back ground by Lynyrd Skynyrd. After this many left but us 5 siblings went back to the fire pit and stayed near it until around midnight.
This was a fun great way to spend time with family. I talked with a few family members the day we left and all were in agreement that this was the best day out of the four we spent together.
