My curry leaf plant

For years, we had a curry leaf plant, not that tall, just about four feet plus. Its stem was long and thin. But the leaves were happy and luscious. Over the years, the weight of the leaves caused the stem to be slanted.
Curry leaf tree / plant is from the Rutaceae Family and is scientifically known as Murraya koenigii. Curry leaf tree / plant is known for its aromatic leaves that are commonly used in Indian cuisines. When fried, the leaves can be eaten as a snack too. The leaves are usually added into curry for that added curry fragrance.
One day, a few months back, my curry leaves started to drop one by one for reasons unknown to me. The only thing I saw was that the leaves had black dots, which seemed like it was attacked by some insect or contracted some disease. Soon, before we knew it, all the leaves dropped and the plant became bald.
Feeling sad, we left the plant be for days and there did not seem to be any more life to the plant. Then, we decided to chop off the stem shorter to see if it will ignite the cells to grow again. I read somewhere that chopping off stems or branches can bring new growth.
After about two to three weeks, suddenly we saw some greens sprouting from the sides of the chopped stem! Yippee! There was much joy and hope seeing the green leaves.
A week after that, our googlyeyes friends appeared!

As weeks passed, they continued to grow...
