Up before 5am yesterday morning I checked the doppler to see a pretty strong mass of wet heading right for us. It was already sprinkling as I headed out to the car for my trip to town.
The camera on my Pixel is stellar and really did well with the darkness and the bright spots. The clouds look killer.
As I headed down the bypass it started to DUMP for all of a half mile then was back to sprinkles.
I got to the brewery where 3 barrels waited. I was in the midst of shoveling out the first barrel when the shovel broke. The handle snapped right off but thankfully I was able to keep using the shovel to finish loading the grain.
Wet and soggy Spokane at the best time of day... when there is no one out and about.
I was home before 6am and as I sat down to do my post this was the doppler.
7:30am and it down poured rather heavily for a good half hour.
It tapered a bit after 8 but we still had a couple hours left before it was done.
I kept watch on the doppler as I watched the various EPL matches that were on and I could see about how long I had before the rains stopped.
Finally around 11 the rain abated and I was able to head out to get harvests done. For the first time this season I had to put on my mud boots to tromp through the garden. The pumpkins are going a bit crazy with growth and need some serious hacking back.
There are some larger ones growing though.
Heavier load of squash for the day.
Then the standard 10 cucs but some Anaheim peppers were close to ripe.
With both of my lighter grain shovels having broken handles I had to find a new one. I managed to sand down the end of a broken handle then fixed it to the shovel. This is my favorite of the grain shovels as it's light weight and I can spread the grain as I throw it quite easily.
Before spreading the grain I had to haul off the potato plants that I had piled while digging. Managed to get them all in one load of the wheelbarrow.
Then the plastic got folded up to the top end, the irrigation lines all coiled, and the pine cones tossed out.
The grain got wheeled in then I spread it over the top of the ex-potato rows.
We are looking at days of warm now so by mid next week it will be ready to till in.
The rest of the grain got dumped for the animals.
The Pi Zero is SO SLOW!!!! Got the Pi OS going with the new screen and it picked up the touch screen part of it once the OS finally loaded. My Orange Pi zero 3 will be here today which will be much more powerful.
@stryeyz asked me to print out another tray which she is using for organizing on the center island.
I was on the deck and looked up to see some cool clouds overhead.
The inflow lines were SUPER Cool looking.
On a wander around the farm we were looking at all the ripe chokecherries and noticed this poor one bent over by the weight of them.
I looked to the west and saw the insane colors of the sunset so we walked out the road a bit to a good viewpoint.
SO CRAZY! Zero camera effects or filters, this was the sunset yesterday.
At the end of it there was like a tunnel of clouds pointing to the sun before the intense reds faded.
Printed out this yarn bowl but screwed up and had it at 1% instead of 10% infill. A bit too light to use.
Out to soak for a while.
Printed the lid which fits nice.
Today I will be in the garden in the morning then mid day I am going to Inkler's to fly.
