Volví a Araya, como ya dije *, con intención de registrar fotográficamente la maravilla de las salinas. No fue posible, pero traté de recoger algo de la vida de esos lugares, particularmente, de la fauna pedestre que la acompaña.
En este caso, se trata de las cabras y chivos, animales que deambulan en estas zonas semiáridas y secas, como podemos ver a lo largo de toda la Península de Araya.
Su presencia en estos espacios forma parte del paisaje común y cotidiano. Se les puede ver errando en tales parajes, ramoneando arbustos o comiendo hierbas; subiendo por cerros, e incluso "paseando" en las calles de los pueblos.
En mi ida hacia las salinas, me encontré con un grupo de cabras y chivos, que iban como en fila india, siguiendo a los mayores, saliendo de tierra adentro para andar por las orillas de la carretera, comiendo algo de lo que encontraban. En una cotidiana "peregrinación", avanzan dejando a un lado la lejanía salitrosa, enmarcados en el paisaje áspero de los cerros y el azul del cielo peninsular.

I returned to Araya, as I said *, with the intention of photographically recording the wonder of the salt flats. It wasn't possible, but I tried to capture something of the life of those places, particularly the wildlife that accompanies it.
In this case, we are talking about goats and sheep, animals that roam these semi-arid and dry areas, as we can see throughout the Araya Peninsula.
Their presence in these spaces is part of the common, everyday landscape. They can be seen wandering around these places, grazing on bushes or eating grass, climbing hills, and even “strolling” through the streets of the villages.
On my way to the salt flats, I came across a group of goats and sheep, walking in single file, following the older ones, leaving the inland to walk along the sides of the road, eating whatever they could find. In a daily “pilgrimage,” they advance, leaving behind the salty distance, framed by the rugged landscape of the hills and the blue sky peninsular.
