Hello there, my fellow musicians and music lovers!
To end this cycle of performances in the Hive Music Festival, I came around with this song by Simón Díaz. As far as I'm concerned, it is regarded as his best composition. It is hard to argue with that.
It is a song that doesn't seem to have a specific genre. I think it is a Tonada, then it sounds like a Waltz. The only thing for sure is that it is a Poem. The song's name is Todo Este Campo Es Mío. And it is a series of descriptions of things that one might get to see in the plains. Everything that goes from sounds, to solitude to animals enshrined in the vision of someone who is in love with the land.
That's the whole idea of the song!
The original version has an amazing guitar playing alongside the lyrics. And it is one of the best things I have heard. My version plays on having something similar making the melody. It isn't as good as that version, but it is my version of the song. I can't tell how much I enjoyed playing it. Learning it was kind of tough. It was a song I hadn't heard before. So I had to spend some time listening to it to understand the movement of the whole song to finally give shape to my version.
And of course, I couldn't have played it with another instrument that isn't my default concert Venezuelan Cuatro. That was you don't have to miss a bit of the harmony and all the other things included in the playing of such a beautiful piece.
I'll add a link to the original version so you can enjoy it as well!
