🎶 Un tiempo mejor – Julio Miranda 🎶
Queridos amigos de la comunidad de #musiczone, ¡Me siento muy contento de estar nuevamente con ustedes! Hoy voy compartirles una experiencia muy buena con una canción que me ha acompañado en momentos de reflexión y esperanza. Se trata de “Un tiempo mejor”, una hermosa pieza del inolvidable cantautor venezolano Julio Miranda, nativo de Carúpano, estado Sucre.
Este buen tema lo interpreté con el cuatro venezolano, en tono de fa mayor. Les confieso que, con las uñas un poco largas, ese tono se vuelve algo incómodo de ejecutar. Por eso decidí hacer un pequeño ajuste: transporté el cuatro medio tono arriba en cada cuerda, lo que me permitió tocar con más comodidad sin perder la esencia del pasaje pero tocando en mi mayor😄.
La canción habla de un romance fallido, pero es el mensaje de fondo: la esperanza de que vendrán tiempos mejores. Y aunque originalmente se refiere a una relación amorosa, creo que esa frase —“un tiempo mejor”— puede aplicarse perfectamente a todos los venezolanos que seguimos aquí, apostando por nuestro país, soñando con días más felices y llenos de oportunidades.
Cada vez que toco esta canción, siento que no solo estoy interpretando una historia personal, sino también una promesa colectiva. Porque todos, sin excepción, deseamos un futuro más justo, más alegre, más humano. Y la música, como siempre, nos ayuda a mantener viva esa ilusión.

Dear friends of the #musiczone community, I'm very happy to be with you again! Today I'm going to share a wonderful experience with a song that has accompanied me through moments of reflection and hope. It's "A Better Time," a beautiful piece by the unforgettable Venezuelan singer-songwriter Julio Miranda, a native of Carúpano, Sucre state.
I performed this wonderful song on the Venezuelan cuatro, in the key of F major. I confess that, with longer fingernails, that key becomes somewhat awkward to play. So I decided to make a small adjustment: I transposed the cuatro a half step up on each string, which allowed me to play more comfortably without losing the essence of the passage, but still playing in E major.
The song speaks of a failed romance, but the underlying message is the hope that better times will come. And although it originally refers to a romantic relationship, I believe that phrase—"a better time"—can be perfectly applied to all of us Venezuelans who are still here, committed to our country, dreaming of happier days full of opportunities.
Every time I play this song, I feel like I'm not only interpreting a personal story, but also a collective promise. Because all of us, without exception, long for a more just, happier, more humane future. And music, as always, helps us keep that dream alive.
