I have long thought that it is quite difficult to find new music that matches the great classics of previous decades, if we pay attention, it is very likely that the music we listen to most often is not of this decade, but with the exception of some current songs that pass very quickly through our radar and then disappear or be supplanted by the new hit of the moment. Everything is happening very fast as far as the music industry is concerned and in that sense also disappear with some ease the vast majority of hits of current artists who must take advantage of the fleeting success they may have.
But what does last over time and gives stability even after many years to an artist is a good song, not one of those disposable ones, but one of those that transcend borders and consolidate over time. Such is the case of “Take on me” by the Norwegian band A-ha, this song came out in 1985 and is still heard around the world, and while it is true that we do not know more famous songs of the band, they are already reflected in the history of music, so I wanted to give them a small tribute through this bass cover.
Tengo mucho tiempo pensando que es bastante complicado encontrar música nueva que se equipare con los grandes clásicos de las décadas anteriores, sí ponemos atención, es muy probable que la música que escuchamos con más frecuencia no es de ésta década, pero con excepción de algunas canciones actuales que pasan muy rápido por nuestro radar para luego desaparecer o para ser suplantada por el nuevo éxito del momento. Todo está pasando muy rápido en cuanto a la industria musical se refiere y en ese sentido también desaparecen con cierta facilidad la gran mayoría de hits de los artistas actuales quienes deben aprovechar el fugaz éxito que puedan tener.
Pero lo que si perdura en el tiempo y le brinda estabilidad incluso pasados muchos años a un artista es una buena canción, ojo, no se esas desechables, sino que esas que transcienden fronteras y se consolidan en el tiempo. Tal es el caso de “Take on me” de la banda noruega A-ha, ésta canción surgió el año 1985 y aún se sigue escuchando por todo el mundo, y aunque es cierto que no conocemos más canciones famosas de la mencionada banda, ellos ya están plasmados en la historia de la música, es así que quise brindarles un pequeño homenaje a través de éste cover de bajo.

To record this bass cover I downloaded the song from the band's official Youtube channel, then, I used the Moises application to remove the original bass line, that way I could record a completely clean line. I applied a couple of effects to give prominence to the bass since it is obviously the central element in my performances, but I tried not to overdo it in modifying the original sound previously recorded. I hope my presentation this week is to everyone's liking, I really like to humbly share my bass covers with the community, best regards!
Para grabar éste cover de bajo descargué la canción del canal oficial de Youtube de la banda, luego, usé la aplicación Moises para eliminar la línea de bajo original, de esa forma pude grabar una línea completamente limpia. Apliqué un par de efectos para dar protagonismo al bajo ya que evidentemente es el elemento central en mis presentaciones, pero traté de no exagerar en modificar el sonido original previamente grabado. Espero que mi presentación de ésta semana sea del agrado de todos, de verdad me gusta compartir humildemente mis covers de bajo con la comunidad. ¡Un fuerte abrazo!
