Hello,Hivers. My name is @eijnuj06, and I'd like to share my experience attending two fiestas in different locations in one day, where I had delicious meals.
In the Philippines, fiestas are cultural and religious celebrations. This festival is very important to Filipinos, particularly those of us who practice the Catholic faith. In the Philippines, each town or barangay has its own festival to commemorate a patron saint. A fiesta isn't complete without an assortment of delicous meals.
I received two invitations to various fiesta activities, one in Barangay Sabang, Danao City, and the other in Brgy. Ilihan, Tabogon, Cebu. Fortunately, the celebration in Danao is for lunch, while the one in Ilihan is for dinner. So, due to the time difference in the celebration, I was able to accept their invitation.
In Sabang Danao, it was my girlfriend's relatives, and they arranged a variety of meals on the table for us and other visitors.
**Spaghetti** is the world's most popular pasta dish, a favorite of both children and adults.
**Escabeche** is fried fish cooked in a sweet and sour sauce, which provides a combination of sweet and tangy flavors.
**Pork Ginagmay**: Ginagmay is a Bisaya term that means "cut into small pieces," hence Pork Ginagmay is a dish made with pork and veggies.
**Pork Humba** is a popular Filipino cuisine similar to pork adobo. It involves cooking pork belly in a mixture of soy sauce, vinegar, and sugar. We usually use soft drinks on it, especially Sprite.
**Pansit Bam-i** is a combination of Bihon and Canton noodles, sliced pork, and veggies.
Fortunately, we were the only visitors to arrive first, so we could enjoy the food on our own. They also have Pork Lumpia and Fried Chicken, which I haven't photographed; they also have fruit salad and a mango float.
After eating, we returned home, and I immediately drove to Ilihan for dinner; the travel from Danao to Ilihan takes 1 hour and 30 minutes. My auntie, my father's sister, was celebrating her fiesta at Ilihan, Cebu. They also provide wonderful dishes like as lechon, dinugoan (pork blood soup), and pansit bam.i.
**Lechon** is a roasted whole pig seasoned with a variety of veggies and spices. **Dinuguan** is created with pork cooked with a savory of pork blood; some people adore it, while others do not like blood-based meals.
I also appreciated the meal offered; I was very filled that day. I was grateful to God for the food that I ate today. I will be able to attend their church and light a candle and pray. Is it also culture for us Catholics to light a candle in honor of a patron saint.
Fiestas typically include a variety of cuisines, loud music, activities, singing, and dancing, as well as a large crowd of cheerful, drunk people outside.
