Let's be honest, traveling to famous tourist destinations also means shelling more from our pockets for food, transportation, and even souvenirs. Such is the case when I visited Boracay Island. I already knew I would have to bring "more than what I thought I should bring" pocket money as also recommended by my friends.
During our 4D 3N stay there, it was imperative that we somehow stretch our budget until the last day and we could only do that with food! And so off we went to find a very affordable restaurant along the shores of Boracay Island.
Our friend Cyril suggested heading to Sensi's Pares Hilton which he was constantly passing by...
With a huge tarpaulin hanging on their entrance wall, it would be hard not to notice the affordable prices that go with their meals. And so without hesitation, we found ourselves climbing the stairs right away.
The dining area is but only a small space that would probably cater to about 15 people. I'm not sure though if the back area was an extension.
They offer a variety of Filipino rice meals like Chicken Silog, Tapsilog, and Lechon Silog where prices range from Php120 to Php205 ($2.18 or $3.73). And for the drinks, they offer Brewed Coffee - Php85 ($1.54), hot chocolate - Php 135 ($2.45), and different flavors of Fruit Milkshakes with prices ranging from Php135 to Php185 ($2.45 to $3.36)
So we ordered Tapsilog, Adobosilog, and Beef Pares with Unli Rice for me! Of course, I was only after what their famous "Beef Pares" tasted like and not the unlimited rice. 😏
While waiting for the food to be served, the crew asked me to take a photo of them and send it to their social media.
About 15 minutes later, our food was served one by one.
Beef Pares was delicious for me. Its sauce was over the top but I love its consistency and taste. The beef was so soft too. I was kind of surprised to find how I was liking my chosen meal that I couldn't say no to ordering another half rice just so I could savor every bit of it.
My friend who ordered the Tapasilog said his meal was more than okay than what he expected.
And another friend who ordered the Adobosilog said the meat was just cooked well with a savory taste.
We all enjoyed our meals to the last bit so our money wouldn't go to waste. My friend Cyril ordered a Banana Choco Milkshake which he let me take a sip and it was so refreshing. I regretted not ordering one for myself.
Aight. So if you are looking for affordable yet delicious food in Boracay Island, just look for Sensi's PARES HILTON along Station 3 right beside Boracay Galleria.
