There's good news for Japanese food lovers who love the anime One Piece. At Yoshinoya, you can see Luffy's pirate crew and take photos with them. Of course, not in real life, but standing action figures. Yoshinoya also has another interesting menu item to try.
As a Japanese food lover, I always enjoy the food here; it tastes authentically Japanese and halal. Why? Of course, because Yoshinoya's standard taste is simply too good! Wait... what does it taste like? All I can say is: This is delicious. The tongue never lies, right?
I ordered their new menu, chicken curry rice, with a soft half boiled egg omelette. It was incredible soft when you put just one spoonful in your mouth. It melt and was slightly buttery. For some reason, the taste it was perfect for Indonesian palates.
Besides the egg, there is chicken katsu served with Japanese curry sauce, which was sweet and savory, with a hint of pepper, making it incredibly rich. I also added a bit of mayonnaise, which had a truly unique flavor. I think it was Yoshinoya's homemade mayonnaise, a concoction that perfectly complemented the Japanese curry.
Wait, and that's not all. I also ordered a bowl of yakiniku rice with a little added meat for more protein than rice. It made me very happy and full. I'm never disappointed by the taste of Yoshinoya's food.
Almost every retailer has this on the menu, so don't worry if you run out. Yoshinoya has four stores in my downtown, Medan. Even though we are not a big city, restaurants like this can still compete. Plus, there aren't many Japanese restaurants in this city, so there's a steady stream of customers.
Before leaving, I took a photo with my favorite standing action figures. It was like getting my inner child back by meeting them. I was so happy because this is such a rare occurrence. This kind of thing is seasonal, or you could say limited edition, so I couldn't pass up this golden opportunity.
Also, they had an interesting product for sale, a collaboration between One Piece and Yoshinoya. Of course, I didn't pass up this golden opportunity. Interesting, right?
